I have found myself to have a VS Commodore from Turners Auction in my driveway. Unfortunatly it has come with no key so I cant test drive the car. Being that these run a transponder key I am not able to just swap another ignition into it as I have done in the past with Vns etc. Just wondering how people have got around this with late model cars. especially being turned into production saloons and the like. If you are turning one into racecar you wouldnt want to have the key as part of the starting setup so is it possible to easily cut the immobilisor out? Any help would be much appreciated.

ahh fun times ;Di had the same problem with a ef/el falcon, you could get a new key/transponder becuase the alarm system can learn new keys, or rip the whole lot out and get a bypass system($150 for the falcon one), some people leave the barrel etc all together(with key in)and just hide it all somewhere,id prefer to get rid of as much stuff as possible. jump on some aus sites those guys have been swapping efi engines into old cars so should be able to help. cheers scotty
