Went up and over to the dark side to the Springs opening night. The new surface with 10 degree banked corners made for some very fast racing. No rutting up and dust free.First night, new surface and a lot of new machinery but every class either broke lap record or 100ths of second off it. This surface would show its worth with 6/8 super saloons roaring round it.Perhaps Bernie and Lewis Dawson should float the idea,as midgets/tqs come over to W.P.. Saw several ex WP competitors now in open wheelers.Rose Halfpenny in F2 Midget, and Nevon Cowan a tq,but driven by Chris Street last night. Overall a reasonable night, but prefer stocks/saloons etc but as they say, what ever floats your boat. Credit must be given to Lewis and co for the surface and I'm sure many clubs/promoters will be eyeing the surface with envey.
