The ENZED Superstock Teams Champs draw will be screened on TV3 this Sunday afternoon, January 30th, time still TBC (will hopefully know tomorrow)
UPDATE 28/1/11; 5.25pm on Gillette Motorsport
The Lucas Oils presented race coverage will be split into two episodes as per tradition; Qualifying night will screen on Sunday afternoon, February 27th from 4.00pm to 4.30pm. The following Sunday, March 6th, from 5.00pm to 5.30pm will be the Finals.
A big thanks to both Lucas Oils and TV3 for their involvment in 2011, as without both this event would not be televised into your lounge rooms this year.

This is how Sunday's TV3 draw will happen, and is the same as 2010 except for the 4 seeded teams being different (and with the Warriors replacing the All Stars). The Tigers and the GB Lions have both moved up one place from the previous year, while the Panthers and the Scrappers have dropped out and are replaced by the Mustangs and the Wanderers after the 2010 running of the event.
Race Rank Team Rank Team 1 Team 4 Waikato Wanderers vs Team 5 As per Sunday's draw 2 Team 6 As per Sunday's draw vs Team 2 Great Britain Lions 3 Team 7 As per Sunday's draw vs Team 8 As per Sunday's draw 4 Team 3 Manawatu Mustangs vs Team 9 As per Sunday's draw 5 Team 10 As per Sunday's draw vs Team 1 Nelson Tigers 6 Team 11 As per Sunday's draw vs Team 4 Waikato Wanderers 7 Team 2 Great Britain Lions vs Team 5 As per Sunday's draw 8 Team 6 As per Sunday's draw vs Team 7 As per Sunday's draw 9 Team 8 As per Sunday's draw vs Team 3 Manawatu Mustangs 10 Team 1 Nelson Tigers vs Team 9 As per Sunday's draw 11 Team 10 As per Sunday's draw vs Team 11 As per Sunday's draw
The teams to randomly draw into the 7 vacant positions are as follows;
Rotorua Rebels Kihikihi Kings Hawkes Bay Hawkeyes Stratford Scrappers Wanganui Warriors Palmerston North Panthers Christchurch Glen Eagles

I'm going to sit back now and wait for the messages that come in from everyone that has better ideas about how the draw can be done, why we only have 11 teams, how unfair the draw system is, etc.
Wait for it... Wait for it....

Thanks for that Barry-makes it plain and simple for all to see how the 11 team draw works. So the lucky number to draw is 7 not having to face any seeded teams on night one. Unlucky numbers to draw being 5 to meet Wanderers & Lions 1st night and number 9 meeting Mustangs & Tigers 1st night dam haha Wouldnt that be interesting if Panthers pull number 9 will make a couple of races Friday night like finals ;D

Of course it's not just about who draws who, but having to have a fair and balanced race order as well with the teams having as close to equal time between races to make repairs.
Team 7 gets a "soft" draw of two unseeded teams, but has four races to be ready for the next teams race (as do all 4 of the seeded teams). Team 5 and Team 9 get two seeded teams, but also have five races to get ready as a bit of a bonus.

7 or 11 be ok
7 - get to avoid seeded teams
11 - 1st race vs seeded team (Waikato) who have already raced and team 11 hasnt so are fresh and 2nd race vs team 10 who have just been in a battle with Tigers so higher chance of being bit broken etc

Any odds on Kihikihi being team 5 or 9?
If they are going to use this format they need to take 8 teams through to the second night. This format relies too much on your oppositions performance as opposed to your own performance.

Only 4 have a chance of winning though right? If my memory serves me correct, yes, although teams 5-8 from Night 1 can work their way through to becoming a seeded team for 2012 (and Top 4 teams can drop out). It's not a straight Tier 1/Tier 2 situation.

Teams finishing 5th to 8th on Friday can only progress to 3rd in the Finals.

It's not a straight Tier 1/Tier 2 situation. From memory of putting the mag together the 2nd night goes like this. 1 v 2 winner through to final loser through to 3rd and 4th runoff 3 v 4 winner through to final loser to 5th v 6th 5 v 6 winner through to 3rd and 4th loser out 7 v 8 winner winer through to 5th v 6th loser out

Should probably be;
1 vs 4 2 vs 3 5 vs 8 6 vs 7
.....giving every chance to Teams 1 & 2 from Night 1 to make the Final, and to Teams 5 & 6 to advance if good enough. I don't think it was quite like that last year, may have been 1 vs 3 and 2 vs 4 I think, but a normal sports-seeding situation would be 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3.

Palmy will be team number 7 I bet ya. Please Please when the draw is done just write the team names on bits of paper draw them out and hold them up to the camera for all to witness, IT"S SO SO SIMPLE . That way we can all see it isn't rigged in anyway shape or form what so ever.

I don't think television will quite be into the "bits of paper" thinking haha, but it doesn't matter how, where, when and by whom it is done, there's always some fans unhappy with their particular draw that'll scream "rigged".

But like Lotto's Big Wednesday being 'fixed'. Darn, I'll never get my hands on that Audi Q7....
