Grant Flynn 6b is my pick now that he has a new motor which will have some real horsepower, a very good driver in the slick, they seem to know how to get the most out of the chassis when it slicks off and he's not scared of the concrete like most, mind you it all depends on how many scuds are out there, I know there will be a few, I can assure you there will be one less this year. I think i have every chance of being at the podium ;D And I hope Mintie that the Super Saloon drivers have a little more decorum than those dang Stockcar drivers when it comes to chasing the hard working commentators with the fizzypiss. Ohh BTW 4w will be on that top step

:DHuntly for some reason seems to be a track that brings out the worst in super saloon drivers in championship meetings. To pick a winner is always difficult but having watched a few big super saloon meets at Huntly over the years the favourites seem more hell bent on taking each other out here than any other track that i've seen them compete together at. 7m performed with mediocre results there last season on several outings.Fletcher and Jennings in same race, remember Gisborne?.Jennings is reputed to have sold his car and purchased the ex Blondie corvette,if so will history remain with this weapon.High hopes will be on Macca ;Dbut not having raced for a season and pre season blues hitting him at Kihikihi to early to say if the combo of old will return in the new weapon. To sum up it would be a foolish punter ::)who would bet the house, girlfriend or what ever on the result especially at Huntly.

Gee, are we picking winners already? The season hasn,t even started yet . Anyway I,ll jump in & say I,d Agree with Chris 13W,Every chance of present 1NZ remaining 1NZ. Shane loves the Huntly track & if he can make his new car work as well as his winning car of last year (now in the hands of Ben Harding) he,ll be right up there. However if I was a betting man I,d have some money on a S.I win. Particularly Ian Burson-He was strong anywhere last season on drivey & slick tracks. Wouldn't discount Paddy North & Ritchie Taylor either. The good thing about Super Saloons, despite talk of there being declining numbers in the class, there is still a good depth of drivers around the country capable of being on the podium.

Yep a wee bit early to be picking winners at this stage, although I will say every year people pick the same drivers, by track loyalty or personal loyalty. Time for proper analysis of cars and drivers to look for a top 3 at Huntly.
People changing cars can make a huge difference in performance, as has been seen in the past. Local track knowledge does not seem to count for much at times either from what I can see (Maybe W/glen being the one track that has a huge bias to local competitors). One thing is for sure we will all know in January, but I have to agree on Ian “The Assassin” Burson, being a chance at Huntly due to consistent placing last year.
Steve W has shown his pace also at Huntly, who knows!

Think he would need to buy his old HRC car back from 77K first... wasn't that flash anywhere last year - maybe his style just doesn't gel with an LRC chassis??

Dean Waddell is my pick.
Would be 1nz if not for multiple crashes and will handle the night 2 conditions well.
Unfortunately I foresee the grid draw playing a big role in the outcome of this event.

Depends on the conditions and the driver. 2006 NI's - Emerson won the final race from the back of the grid by passing on the outside of Huntly. One of the best super saloon races I have ever seen. If you get the car right, and the tracks right, Huntly's two lanes wide as shown here...
Thats really a shame.
