Whincup reminds me of Marcos Ambrose every blatant move he made he also got away with it is it a seprate set of rules for Team vodafone to everyone else is it the beginning of the end for Whincups time at the top as for Shane Van Wizzburgers Shootout Lap that was nothing short of spectacular totally agree...jamie really screwed it up for them on that corner, stupid move. and yes he got away with, only just id say... best race id seen at bathurst was when murphy and ambrose got together going up the mountain, last lap or something, almost had a fist fight on the track..that was ambrose's last year in the v8s... next year should be the kiwis year to shine with shane van gizzy-go hard out and jason richards..

murph has cooled down now some what.
maybe if ambrose had past him going up the hill this year he would have thought about it before ruining both their races.
ambrose and whincup are totally different drivers.
ambrose had to challenge several top drivers and cars when he was in v8s
whincup has 3 drivers he regulary has to beat 4 at a push,
ambrose can pass cars if he is stuck in traffic (came from a lap down to win in one race)
whincup can't.
the fact that jason richards gets forgotten about. He came second!!!!
and he is a kiwi he should get more coverage then the other driver that gets to much. ;D

Isnt it the 50th year bathurst is going next year. Was thinking about going over for the first time at bathurst. Anyone here been before? You have to do it! and being the 50th is just going to be huge!!! I know Ill be there again camping on the moutain but this time instead of only 8 of us there there will be like 25 of us having no sleep for 3 days lol So yeah its gotta be done and if you can organise camping at the track then I would highly recommend it as its adds to the whole experience that only bathurst can give you! (but dont expect to get any sleep lol)

Reading the latest V8X magazine sounds like things look grim for FORD next season with very few cars/teams confirmed to run the blue oval. As explained by the 888 team boss its like the wife leaving you not you leaving the wife in reguards to there switch to HOLDEN..sounds like FORD shut the door on them. Bathurst this year must have been Fords worst showing in recent years-with only 5 finishing in the top 20?? ;D

its heading the same way as WRC, manufactures drop out due to the financial commitment, drivers have to fight for a seat, nobody wins in the end..
watching an all holden field would be like watching the mini stocks..ok for a bit but the gloss will fade off..
we may see more driver owned teams or privateers turn up...you never know until race day..

Open it up to any car make, so long as it runs a V8 and have a set engine capacity

they say roughly about a million bucks to run a team for the week end.thats if you don't write the car off .one class of car leaves a lot for the imagination .imagine no fords theres the crowd gone .if only Holden's properly get 100 people .privateers and a open class is a must .mind you 300ks is properly a little to quick for my customeline . ;D

im a holden man but they both need each other or you have nothing,i dont want to see 32 holdens in a 1 make series either, maybe they need to say 16 fords and 16 holdens-thats the deal or open it up to other makes. be interesting to see what this elusive car of the future is like, maybe a mondeo with a v8 squeezed in and a vectra with v8 as well. wait till this recession is over and the factorys will start supporting teams again and it will balance out hopefully jed

Hear, hear Mr Jeds.
Ford are a 4 letter 'F' word, but necessary or it becomes a one make boring race. I dont know why they don't actively invite more manufacturers like DTM has. They have grown with the 3 makes and I believe a 4th MAY be in the winds.
If only for the Aussie series, or perhaps the KIWIS could do that with our rules. Actually based on a bodyshell instead of a 3/4 spaceframe.
Unlikely but neat idea,

YEAH RIGHT Ok the people behind ford are a bunch of dick heads (because they work for ford) But the result at bathurst doesnt mean its over. They got there ass handed back to them on a plate with the result but at least some of the ford teams arnt going to give up. I love the sport, the battle between the two teams and i hope it goes alot longer.

Who cares who won?Obviously as a ford fan from time of ark I won't suddenley support holden because ford got beaten. We had a few years when holden won,so I just sucked it up so to speak, got hassled by holden mates, but that changed when in Bathurst for 1998 race was a bonus ford won when I was on course, then again ford has won last 3 races till now.
I don't care if ford had 1 or 9 cars in top ten,as it is an endurance race and to finish is ideal, crashes and engine failures is no issue for me,whether they are holden or ford which make the greater numbers of failure.
To me it is a great race,if ford win brilliant,if not take the banter from holden mates(likewise for last few years from me),lasts about till next week, then all forgotten till next year. Much like teams champs at Palmy, only when the final is finished does the celebrating begin, but the following weekend if a non Palmy supporter it is no big deal, until the start at next years meeting.

Ok, didn't see the race and cried a little when I heard the result and we have heard all the Ford anagrams so here is a little cheer for the other Ford supporters out there... HOLDEN = Hold On Love, darned Engine's Nackered and HOLDEN = Hope Our Luck Doesn't End Now Roll on next year ;D

made my first trip to bathurst this weekend and what a buzz it was. quite a few highlights in the shootout. the track commentators and a few sitting around me thought ingall did a solid job first out in tough conditions then murph came out next and you could deffinately tell he didnt give a crap about the conditions and blitzed ingall by 2.5 seconds or something like that. and 'that van gisbergen lap' was crazy! said to my stepdad when the giz went out that he would either be spectacular or he would bin the car but whoa! i guess thats just an experience thing though as lowndes went out and just showed so much better/smooth car control and it showed with his time.
now apart from holdens kicking a*s there was another highlight. jim richards and john bowe were two big names racing in the biante touring car masters and on the 30th anniversary of the brock/richards win by 6 laps in the great race jimmy won the round for the touring car masters. well thats a small review by me and i hope to post a few pictures on this thread when i get my camera back this weekend
