1 less sleep now! With around 46 contracted stock cars, will be interesting how many make it out for opening night. 1 group or 2!! ;D Should be a big crowd, lets hope for fine weather..

Has anyone got a feel for how many cars are racing this Friday at Rotorua? A good right up on the website www.rotoruaspeedway.co.nz but a little light on car details. I guess first meeting of the season is always a bit of lottery. It does sound like they could get a massive crowd though. Two questions tho - How many can the seat at the impressive stadium these days, and do they have many people who try and drive up outside the speedway to watch who don;t pay to get in? good luck with the weather

Was looking forward to it too, but will sadly have to miss it now. Good luck to the club with the weather, and as Rotorua's fireworks display always seems to be the best, it'll be interesting to see if the can supersede Waikaraka Park's great effort this year.

i think a few peolpe do drive up and watch from the car park but most people that dont go to stockcars just stay at home and watch it from there back yard

There's a good reason for being light on car details at the moment it's anybody's guess. We are ranging from 15 to 22 Superstocks. Stockcars is also a bit of a lottery but I am sure there will be plenty with near on 30 having already licenced and Greensheeted. Work commitments and late arrivals of engines etc etc. If we put up exact details they would most certainly be wrong on the night and we don't like to mislead the public.

15 to 22 superstocks would be a good start for the season. Weather forecast is for fine weather so should get a great crowd. Good luck for the season Sonja. Night should finish on a bang!
