Just out of curiosity , how much does it cost to renumber a car?. I'm talking numbers only not sign writing the whole thing.
A lot of cars seem to manage it ok for the individual championships when there are number clashes .
I realise that some teams have signwriters on board as sponsors so cost is probably minimal but for the ones that don't?
And then of course there are the last minute call ups that happen and lead times may be a problem.

I'm sure any host club could soon organise something on Teams Weekends - there can be few excuses really. What club today doesn't have access to a friendly local sign writer?

If each team body had a different coloured roof the comentaters & spectators would be able to seperate cars a lot easier. I am assuming at track level it would be a lot harder for a driver to see that information. Implimenting drivers keeping their usual racing number will only help people who watch a lot of stockcar racing & do nothing to assist the newcomer/ casual spectator who this sport is looking to attract.

Each track should have ten numbers allocated (Gis - 60-69) and team colours by SNZ.
No big deal once it's been done.
Not in favour of district colours, as most think rugby and some districts have more than one track.

Yeah us signwriters are a good sort lol Just out of curiosity , how much does it cost to renumber a car?. I'm talking numbers only not sign writing the whole thing. In terms of costing it would be different depending on who you talk to. Some guys are more keen to help out than others, and signwriting pricing can vary greatly. Quantity would play a part too. Just with anything the more you order the better deal you get. As I am in the speedway circle the company I work for generally gives a good sized discount to help out.

If you know the signwriter usually he will charge you 100 bucks for a set of numbers otherwise you pay a bit more I charge around 80 bucks or less

Not in favour of district colours, as most think rugby and some districts have more than one track. Regional colours could be good, but as you say some regions have more than one track and some tracks have more than one team. We also don't want to shut out major sponsorship, which may dictate a team to change colour from time to time. The rule could read something like the following; R12-4 SUPERSTOCK and STOCKCAR TEAMS RACING RULES:New Rule (n) Stockcar/Superstock Team body colours: Team management (or respective club) to submit their basic bodywork colour scheme of choice to Speedway New Zealand CEO (or other named party) by November 31st each year for approval. SNZ to then liaise with team management, as necessary, and priority preference will be given to teams submitting the same colour scheme as that approved the previous year. Rationale To avoid the current clashes we are having with identical colours, causing confusion for spectators, commentators, television viewers and drivers alike, and which also make our sport look incredibly amateurish. Our biggest event, the Palmerston North Superstock Teams event, was this year broadcast live on the internet as well as later on both television and DVD. All other sports avoid such clashes, for a reason.
