Historically when the Outlaws format has been run over two nights it's been time trials and heats on night 1 with dash and mains on night 2.
The only potential change I see to this is the C-Main may be run on the first night. That way all qualifiers run twice on night two.
I think the format has been well summed up by a couple of posters. Is the the fairest way to find a winner - Yes Is it the most entertaining way to find a winner - No
The pricing of the event concerns me as a spectator. Particularly night 1.
I believe the best format for finals night is the marble draw, reverse grid and fastest to the front winner takes all feature. We aren't seeing this format used anywhere near enough at the moment.

We aren't seeing this format used anywhere near enough at the moment. *nods* That way we get to see the best all racing against each other 3 times, and somewhere along the line the eventual winner HAS to pass a lot of cars - EITHER in one or both of his (or her) two heats (to start up front), OR when moving through from well back in the Feature itself after a poor effort in the qualy heats. I want a champion to be fast AND able to negotiate traffic, not just fast.

Exactly - I remember the NZ Super Saloon's at Baypark a few years ago to exactly this formula - totally boring - and whilst any 1NZ has to be worthy to get the number... I think that years one doesn't stand up to the 3 heat performance a lot of others have had to put in to get their 1NZ number on the car... so doesn't rate the same in my book... Having said that - I'll still be there for both nights - no doubt moaning loudly about how terrible a system it is!!
