Check out the Oceanview website. I thought they were opening next week 13th Dec. I flew over yesterday and did a double take. There are fences missing everywhere, not just around the track. Also the pits and the facility itself. I went over after landing and a lot of work has been done, I then checked out the website and detect a lot of anger and frustration in the Website updates. Is there anyone out there who can tell me exactly whats going on as I took my partner out this morning and he thinks it will not be ready until the NZ Champs or maybe not this season at all. Ruth

Can you just put what it says up here so I can know whats happening. I know you need a fence around the track before you can race. Is some different motorsport going to be there?

Is this really the case? What a joke if it's so, i'm sure the club is missing out on alot of potential visitors to race in Wanganui ahead of the NZ Stockcar Champs. Which also results in less people through the gate, and less money in the bank.

Why aren't more Wanganui stockcar drivers heading to Palmerston North to race? There's only been the one i think so far this year, seems a little odd to want to travel a hour and a half to Stratford, then drive 45 minutes to Palmy?

i travel to stratford to watch. it would be hard to see wanganui opening next weekend but its just a fence thats need to go up. as long as everything is sweet by the big Sidecar meet in january
its all about gearing though isnt it i mean palmys a bigger track where you need to muck arround and make some changes to the car. olds days that just meant raising the leaf springs at the back and chucking on some 14's at the rear, then it got (3 hour quick change) technical swapping the diff heads arround. Stratty just add fuel and shell be right.

So how do people know what to believe as some people seem to know stuff but no official word. And they expect people to go to a working bee. This is going to make a Tui Add. Whanganui Speedway Official Opening 27th November, 13th December,27th December. YEAH RIGHT

I think it's more of a point that stratford cars support wanganui more than palmy does and has in the past. I could be wrong
