Well what can I say. Quick run down on the days events.......... Pulled into Opotiki caltex to fill up on way down, sheared the stub axle off the trailer. Try to find an engineer in opotiki on a public holiday. We found one that was willing to work Got that sorted, headed for Gizzy. 5 mins into gordge hit a possum . Now thats not normally an issue.........In the landcruiser, but we were in the falcon . Did a bit of damage, smashed the trailer light fittings and a bit of other stuff. Carried on through the gordge only to hit stones/rocks, more damage. We carried on and made it. ;D Gizzy let us take to the track for a pre meeting practice ;D ;D ;D. Did two laps.......bang, bang, bang. Hello, loose flywheel. Sweet, 25 mins to get it sorted. They wouldn't delay the race so we missed the gate by one minute . Headed out for the consolation races ;D Hit turn two, bang...........The F%#$@&N gearbox Had enough by now so the car went on the trailer. I've just found my boogie track LOL. Oh well there is always next year. Congrats to Gizzy on the win and as a result they are now the proud holders of the first 'Gladiators vs Crusaders' cup. Which I understand to be an annual event now. See you at KK next year boys. Special thanks to the Gizzy boys for the work done on my car and to Bruce Harding and family for putting us up for the night!!!

Thanx KihiKihi for the teams race ,a long trip but hopefully it was worth while, sure things went wrong an things could of gone better but it is all in the learning, we learnt too -the biggest thing we learnt was that when we look at you guys we look at how far we have come( it's not that long ago-believe me)we also learnt compassion while still craving the passion to win ;D ;D Ivan,Karl,James,Kurt and Stuart did your selves proud, stick with it,set goals(small achievable ones)an build from their, sure you will get hidings an you will get knockers but at the end of the day if you can get some consistency in the team an build on it results will come. ;D ;D We the Gladiators use to do 1 teams race a year(NZs) We have already done 8 this year and have another minimum 9 to do an if results go our way possibly another 3 or 4.Teams racing comes at a cost an thats what Winter is for fund raising an team bonding an its a formula that is certainly working well for us,Sure there is personality clashes(i.e Me an Brett)but we put them aside for the cause an hell who knows respect is getting earnt both ways an perhaps past can be past but we'll see.At the moment focus is on 1 PRIZE and thats the Big one .If you can get momentum going it will start building itself. We all start somewhere an when its at the bottom you dont forget where you come from See you at the N.Z Superstocks at the end of the month ;D ;D ;D

Will be interesting to see how much the Crusaders have improved by the time they take you guys on again next season. Remember if you guys get through your teams race at Rotovegas without too much damage your more than welcome to bring the cars over to Kihikihi for a bit of a skid on the 17th.

Thanks for the words of encouragement Bruce(squeeqy8g). You are right. We are where you guys were. What alot of people don't realise is 4 of the 5 team members are first year drivers. They have probally done 3 or 4 meeting each in their stockcars so it is a big ask to expect these guys to go teams racing.....But their hearts are in the right place and for that they have my utmost respect. I feel for them that I have not made the start line for the past 2 races, first blowing the motor on the hot laps and two blowing the gearbox. Unbeleivable after two years of trouble free racing . The first goal for the team is for every car to make the start line LOL. Once again thanks for a gr8 weekend!!!

We Know what your saying ,it's a big ask on any driver to go teams racing;it's even harder when you havent got competitive machinery(by that I mean fast cars$$$)an when your a new driver the unkown is 10 times worse. As long as your safe in your car and drive with self preservation in mind you eliminate 75% of the risk of getting hurt Time in the seat does wonders, each teams race survived is like a medal-just cant beat that feeling an then imagine the feeling of beating a team you've always admired(for me the MAULERS)what a rush ;D ;D ;D Hopefully when I look back in a few years I'll be able to say,yup I remember the day we beat the CRUSADERS back when them fullas were all new (will always have a soft spot for KihiKihi) ;D ;D ;D ;D
