the springs 2010/2011 calendar is now posted on www.springsspeedway.com and looks to be an absolute cracker at this stage with 4 international sprintcar meetings , the usual international midget car series , also the nz midget car championship, topped off with an australia versus nz midget car test , bring it on

Should be an exciting summer alright - I'm certainly looking forward to witnessing a NZ Midget title on a better race track than last time is was staged at the Springs.

Very clever programming of the international midget series.
The two lesser nights of the series are on Boxing night and New Years Day which will increase crowds to both.
Good to see the Heritage Shield getting it's own night.
I'm looking forward to seeing a 50 lapper on a decent track with a decent format.

Last ever season? I'm sure this would be in the news if even a part of this were true.
Or perhaps Magilla could enlighten us with facts....??

they are pulling up the track including the poleline and grassing out to the wall to use it as a training venue for rugby World Cup.
That all the excuse needed, they wont put it back again

the dirts staying so were told, just the clubrooms are getting a facelift...and also the drive into the track beyond the speedbump which is well overdue!!
as long as we beave ourselves this year with noise and time i think well be there for a while longer, they have to give notice if t the last season

The promotors must have a contract with ARC which should mean the show goes on after rwc2011 no??

ARC or ACC?
Neither will exist then anyway thanks to ACT and National

This is quite concerning. So the the track promotors lease/contract call if what you will, will be almost null in void and the gates will shut for good??
Surely there is some legal issue with a signed lease/ contract and an obligation to fulfill by the track owners, that being the akl council i take it?
