Thanks The Watcher - awesome photos, not in this thread, but all over MIA - Your a legend!
Just heard a story about 45c Bruce Annen - apparently the motor in the car above was the 2nd car in NZ to run a dry sump in a stockcar, after Jac Jac - Ian Easton. Bob Denson built it for the amazing sum of $20,000 in 83, and it was handbuilt and blueprinted etc.
Apparently the photo above was when CHristchurch beat the Wanganui team and made the finals for the first year, hence the chequred flag with Pooh, BJ with a fist pump in the car, and a blok in the crowd doing the Hulk Hogan inpersonation haha.
Apparently on finals night Bruce Annan blew the motor at 9000rpm, with a conrod snapping, blowing the block to bits, and spitting a piston into the grandstand which someone caught.
Big Bad Bruce took his guns round to poor old Bob Densons to find a reason why the big motor blew.
Man, the 80s were the glory days allright.

In the same season in Rotorua, Mr Annan just about chopped the flag man in half with his wall of death acts and that wing!!! Ahhh Yes,The Denco Dragster engine drama. BD was in hiding for a day or two but i think in the end common sense prevailed and after some inspection it turned out to be a failed rod not builder fault. Seriously tough guy old Bruce but once you got to know him he was just a gentle old giant!! Great days alright!!!

Just like those 180 deg headers that Pooh built for his Ford when he was in Nelson. He was winning the SI Champs at the Glen in 86 till one of the pipes got a crack in it and that dropped the whole engine down to 6 cyls and then the hits came thick and heavy!! Youre right, one cock can help and hinder LOL!! By the way...we arent getting old Dude....we are getting faster and better!!! LOL!!!

The Blue 25c stockcar is my old 107c car from about 1985 was red body and white chassis and then yellow and black Williams auto colours I sold it to Griff for a teams car and got to race it each week when he didn't need it , was a great deal as his team did all the work on it IE towed it to the track and they did all the repairs and I just drove it
If I remember right he sold it to Geoff Stanger ? then it went to Darren Forbes in this set of photos
