Your quite correct, I've tried heaps of different things, and no cigar.....there is no way to record my sky! The racing was brilliant, and the commentary was hard case as well, you got to feel fot the 'cone man' LOL

Lucky he stepped out of the way of the car.
Had to laugh when they stole his cone.
Changing tyres is because they pit on the track, can't do that here. ( BP maybe)

I was told mysky will not let you run a DVD recorder off it?? Actually I think this is true, I've got a DVD recorder but I've never actually tried it. I know it doesn't have an HDMI input though, and I don't think it would record analogue from the component out on the MySky, as I know the TV has to be HDCP compliant, which the DVD-R won't be... and as that's anti-piracy software its VERY unlikley that it would record the scrambled signal... They need to put more HDD capacity into MySky!!

I know for a fact that yes you can record mysky to a computer with proper editing software on it. Cheers Duane (Video-Producer) www.4iproductions.co.nz

So what software do you need and how does the hook up work? Cheers!

You basically need a video capture card where you can hook the outputs from the mysky to your computer, I have a high end edit suite which I know works as I had to test it for something. Cheers Duane (video-producer) www.4iproductions.co.nz

I have recorded stuff off my My Sky hard drive to my regular DVD recorder hard drive so it does work. Has anyone noticed that recording HD broadcasts on My Sky uses a heap more space on ya hard drive than the non HD broadcasts?
Anyway good to see the late models on telly

Has anyone noticed that recording HD broadcasts on My Sky uses a heap more space on ya hard drive than the non HD broadcasts? Yep - even if you don't subscribe to HD the files are still twice as big... so that's most of TV3... so lots of my Grand Design programs take up double space - the ones from Living Channel are better as smaller files! So you just hooked the "AV out" to "AV" in and played and recorded onto a DVD then? Must dig the DVD-R out of the cupboard and give it a go! Thanks Al!
