A couple things for night aside from taking almost an hour for the first two or three flag races to take place.
The rest of the night was good, although P werent really tested in either of their two races, G showed promise against A and deserved to beat S with two or three cars. B did well in all their races and prob had the best build up. W well two good wins but looked a bit disjointed.
Was good to see Don Gregory back behind the wheel and peddling a fast machine after his big crash a few years ago.
The south island teams that help make it a national event. Thanks for coming guys. C showed promise in their second race. Nathan Taylor showed a good turn of speed.
And the 12 W streetstocks that rolled out for their second race well done too, good to a class rebuilding after a few very thin years.

These are the points I have as provided over the PA at the track and filled in a few gaps from welly web results.
Maulers - 160 140 Total = 300 Vulcans - 55 125 Total = 180 Gladiators - 50 140 Total = 190 Pumas - 140 185 Total = 325 Young G's - 145 165 Total = 310 Stormers - 70 45 Total = 115 Alley cats - 145 35 Total = 180 Raiders - 50 55 Total = 105 Titans - 125 10 Total = 135 Crushers - 35 70 Total = 105
Most unlucky team have to be Auckland. Before the race against W (last of the night) I put my money on both teams getting to semi's as both had 145 points so at that stage 50 points would be enough for both to progress.
Well done to the teams in the semi's makes for good racing tonight.

makes sence, how did it work for so many years? Might be wrong but I think night 1 of teams meetings have been based on points for over 10 years, may even be longer not 100% sure as I have only been taking a great interest in speedway for that long.

Nick was not taken out on the red he was already riding the wall when it came on. And Davis pulled out as soon as he could. That is what happened.end of story. Some people need to stop making up stories. Like it or not the truth sometimes hurts. I dont think people were making up stories, I was the person who supplied the info and Im sorry from where I was sitting Nic was taken out. Reds came on way before that incident. Darren had ample chance to back off. My opinion only ..and YES I was there
