Well done Puma's... I predicted after the Palmy teams meeting that a change was imminent.... As stated in other posts, all good things must come to an end and it has this year for the Young Guns.. That said like the Panthers it may now have released a bit of pressure that has been building and as we all know they are capable of coming back even stronger.
For the good of the sport in general though it is good for the championship to change hands

Well done pumas you had to work hard to get the championship you looked doubtfull of getting thru to the final but you did so well done.
Like some1 said yea hopefully palmy wont have to put up with the bulls*#t, but people will still put on here that they will cheat and comment about every little thing that goes wrong with the meeting or just the team they support!!! I hope the prices stay at $25 that is resonable and thats the way to get bums on seats.
Thanks Welly a Well runned meeting and good gate prices.

Great job Young Guns for holding it in Welly for so long hold your heads up high and don't worry about all the Bulls**t that goes on in this forum from some people, you all have done a great job! Lets hope Palmy don't out price the event next year though as they tend to do with big meetings which makes it harder for families to attend. Once again well done Young and Old Guns , bring on next year as it brings it even closer to my hometown to hopefully attend as I couldn't this year

congrats palmy on winning your 3rd title in 11 years.
As the saying goes all good things must come to an end for the moment atleast.
The wellington young gunss have had a tremendous run. Having won 7 teams titles in the 10 years they have competed in. 5 in a row and occurring 4 losses at the nz teams event ( three of those to palmy) and i believe 4 other losses in other events and one off team races.
Again a congrats to palmy when considering the title has stayed between the borders of palmy and wellington for 10 of the last 11 years no wonder why the stockcar class is so strong down this way.
By the way Gisborne I believe has a real good chance of winning the title next year they came close against palmy and thrashed the bay.

Congrats to Palmy for a hard fought win, no doubt deserved. But there is something missing from this tread let me think what that is............................... ?? Oh, yes. That's it. All the jibes and name calling directed at the winning team. No accusations of the winners being cheats, or bias ref's who favour ONE team over any and all others. Oh, no. That will be reserved for next year when they defend the title. Well done Palmy you deserve it. It only took 5 or 6 Years. See y'all in Palmy next year - I hope the weather holds.

Not surprised they copped a beating in the semi, including the late hit on paul gaskin when he was against the wall. But hey that's ok he is from Wellington so yo can dish it against them but can't take it from them. just like the hit scooter did on regan when he was parked in the wall by gaskin

Last I heard it was a contact sport there sport, incidents happen when you mix dirt, speed, and drivers with the "red mist". There is difference between a deliberate hit, and "oh, $&@)(: there is parked there".
But hey, scientific research shows that people often see what they want to see - so it supports their reality.

There seems to be some old-timers disease here - the Young'Uns took the title from Bay Park who won it from Palmerston.

You would be about right there ddt, i've been sitting here with the old brain calculater going flat out and have come up with a few quik stats (im sure someone will correct me if im wrong). To start with in the ten times the Young guns have competed in the NZ Teams Champs they have won 36 races & lost 4. Now thats pretty impressive on its own then you add in 11 in a row from when they beat Huntly in the final at the mount in 02/03 until the Pumas won in in 04/05 then 23 in a row from 05/06 beating the Pumas at Palmy until yesterday. Of the 4 loses Palmy have Beatin them 3 times & Rotarua once, 2 loses coming on the same night at Palmy the 1st time they competed as a team. Also They have never failed to make the semi finals. Ive tryed to come up with a list of drivers who have raced in the Young Guns during this 10 year period, hopefuly i haven't missed any one, Dale Robertson, Richard Gaskin, Paul Gaskin, Paul Wood, Hilton Parker, Alan Levein, Blair Ireland, Tony (TC)) Collins, david marshall, Darren Grey, Joran Keene, Scott (scooter) McIntosh, Jason Kinsey (I think), Kyle Lane & lastest recruit Shane Davis. Im sure there's mant other stats people could come with but my fingers are worn out. Concratulations on the last ten years i don't think any team will ever match or better a record like The Young Guns have. All i can add is, Go The Gunners, Teams Champions 2011/12.

Facing in the direction of racing isn't fair game if your in a none attacking position.

Well its taken me a day but I've finally managed to stop crying...
The final was like watching the French beat the AB's in the last world cup. I was just quietly confident, they are a bit behind but don't worry the boys will come through. The last lap, last corner, Dale boxed in but managed to break free and put in a good hit on the leader but some how he good through and Palmy took the win. I just sat there like a stunned mullet... How did it happen?
A day later and I have to congradulate Palmy on an very deserved win. Worked as a great team. That Mr Rees just blocked so well, a king hit on Scooter at the start and kept the welly blockers very busy for the rest of the race, Gisbourne were right to nail him at the start of their semi.
I would have to give the Welly team a huge thanks for all the fantastic teams racing over a long period of time. A true champion team. On the day they totally controlled their semi against the Maulers and certainly put it all on the line in the final. Thanks guys as a absolute Wellington fan it has been brilliant having you guys at the front for so long. Lets hope we can do it again next year!!!
Cheers John
