Facing in the direction of racing isn't fair game if your in a none attacking position. he was still running so he was still in a position to attack and was in the racing direction again fair game just like regan was

First time ever seen car stopped /maimed by wall for nearly entire race then get smashed full noise again by another driver. Personally thought it was a bit mean spirited But if its in the rules then so be it Might be good a match up in the future

With Regan parked in front of the car the w car was not able to attack and is therefore deemed in a 'non attacking position'. Regan had nothing in front of him stopping him attacking another car so was always in an attacking position so was fair game. I agree though, will watch these two square off in the future.

I thought there was time to being stationary ( not moving, not things you would get from paper plus ) before you can just jump out and hit someone. Otherwise you will get non moving drivers being smashed just incase they may be lying in wait.

I thought there was time to being stationary ( not moving, not things you would get from paper plus ) before you can just jump out and hit someone. Otherwise you will get non moving drivers being smashed just incase they may be lying in wait. In a "normal" race you cant stop at all or the ref may deem you to be out of the race I think the rule is something like... you must remain moving, no matter how slowly.... That rule also applies to run off's so next time ya hear someone saying in a run off so and so should stop and wait for the leader, they can't. In teams you can stop to lay in wait, but you can only do that if you are in an attacking position. By that I mean you can move (either forwards or reverse) in the direction on the flow of traffic. It matters not one bit how small the angle is as long as its in the race direction. The catch is that while you are stopped if you are in an attacking position you are also fair game. You are not in an attacking position if you have to move against the flow of traffic to move because your way of traveling forward is impeded by either another car or the wall. Have a look at the Mental vid posted and you will see PG's way forward, in the direction of the race, was impeded. In the run off for first/second in the plate Al Levien had his way impeded by an Ak car (sorry can't remember the #) at the start of the back straight. He reversed against traffic as he was allowed to.... but the blocking Ak car also backed up blocking Al as far as the pole line... that was an illegal move

Geez, Ramjam you should be a ref, the one in the box seemed to have no idea.

Thanks for that observation Ramjam but it was like banging our heads against a brick wall to make the ref see that!! Al was in the box for over 30mins after that race but no one saw anything wrong lol They must ne blind or uneducated in the rules of teams racing the lata I think could be the case!!

I'm amazed they missed that incident Sue as there were only about 3 cars moving at the time, and two of them were involved in the incident!!! The lack of understanding of teams racing rules among both drivers and apparently referees is of concern. I have heard a driver ask a question of a ref in a drivers meeting and the ref give completly the wrong answer. This then begs the question... Does what the ref said then become the rules for all teams races at that meeting or do the normal teams rules apply and you argue it in the box after the race. Doing it that way is hard work when there is no protests allowed.
The drivers reps should be working with the refs to make sure the calls are correct. Teams rules are very very different to normal race rules.

Al Levien had his way impeded by an Ak car (sorry can't remember the #) That's not a surprise with their numbers......
