Race report Huntly King of the Dirt Saloons,
Well with a few days spare before disappearing somewhere else in the world, I got my car out of the shed and decided to run the car, With a good field of Saloons listed it was off to Huntly,
Race 1 and I was off grid 9, a good start and getting though some slower cars and I managed to stay onto the main group, having not driven the car for nearly a year I was happy to stick with this group, the car was handling alright and we had a good base for the night, I Finished up 5th and pretty happy,
What happened next is well known on here by now, and the meeting was called off.
In the last 8 months I have been away I have read this site a lot when missing home and speedway, and remember seeing the photos of the awesome looking 89r Stockcar from speedshow, not all Stockcars are pretty looking but this car was done to a amazing standard, I remember the car coming past us as they drove in Saturday night and thinking it looked just as good in the flesh, The image off the car being towed past with the cage cut off and the tarps over it will stay with me for a long time,
To the Family, Crew and Friends of Ray, my best wishes are with you, and to the Crash Crew, and all the workers at Huntly Speedway my thoughts are with you as well, RIP fellow racer,
Till next time,
Scott Wilkins 67H Saloon
