Cool, thanks for that Clive.
Certainly made the difference on our car when it used to rev too high, which is what the original question was I think.

KE70 has 4K engine. Never ran 3K so cannot be used as a doner car. Also had Rack and pinion steering, a coil sprung diff and different front end. (lighter) From the rulebook "Donor cars are Datsun 1200, Datsun 120Y and Sunny 1200cc using A12 engine, or Toyota Corolla using 1200cc 3K engine," Also "All standard steering and steering box, struts, shocks, bottom arms, sway bar, ball joints, cross member, brakes, springs, engine and gear box mounts, rear axle and differential (differential may be locked), wheels, drive shaft and control pedals must be used. " I asume that would include the diff head. As we know with SNZ Rules if it doesnt say you can do it then assume you cant. Anyway Porry, whats caused you to have a bee in your bonnet. Sounds like a guilty concience Im not a know all. Just like things to be fair for everyone and rules to be followed. Particularly ones pertaining to performance in a budget class. Surely you as a competitor could quote the rule book on the saloon section? no point having rules in this class. guys are using 1500s in stead of 1200s. budget class. who has a budget of 13k for an engine. all parts from a donor car. didnt no a donor car that is that old would still have a legit brand spanking shocks in it

doesnt raly mean much, 1500 or 1200 both almost the same, bith the cams are the same size whch is why you will hear somepeople saying that they use 1500 cams, don't realy see the point in that, doesnt do anything
