Great nights racing some huge hits by all teams But what amazes me is how hard P Rees and Scooter hit and they do it constantly time after time ,they r bloody lunatics ,but good ones at that there whould be few sore bodies today ,,

There were indeed some big hits, but there were also some unnecessary ones, like Graeme Peter's full-noise slam into the back of a Stratford car whilst leading the race after which his car just died.
Tactically, there is a huge void between teams who have raced together for a while, and some of the teams that have had limited racing, or have had to rely on ring-ins. I doubt that Wanganui will give Jordan Dare the same latitude tonight that the Maulers or Raiders did last night when Dare was left to run and win and run and win. Likewise, Auckland face a mountain to climb in the Pumas, even if they are a car down with Tye's blown engine (which may be replaced today).
I'm picking a Pumas v Vulcans final, with the winner dependant on whose cars are in the best condition. Wanganui got through last night with minimal damage, and apart from Tye, Palmy seemed likewise. But a tough semi-final could well have consequences when the money race comes around. I'm feeling good about not having to travel to next year's event ;D

Watching the last pumas race from the stands it was obvious what Asher's surname was with the way he lined up 1 of the rotorua cars heading into turn 3 while leading, was worthy of his father All set for another great night, hopefully all the teams have their cars repaired ready for some more good contests

Pretty hard to see anyone other than the Pumas taking it out on night 2 , so good they aren't that great to watch. Fantasic effort by all teams , so many new ways they found to create a spectacle. Theme of night one would have been 'Aim for the Stars' or 'New launching Styles' Great show by everyone and well run too. All over by 10pm wasn't what I was expecting considering the first race didn't get underway until 7.15pm.
Think I will stick around for night 2 .

There definitely were some unnescessary hits, Scooter hitting the Auckland car full noise in the back, twice, and kept going! That had me frightened for a moment, because I've never seen Scooter lose it like that.. he stopped racing for the team and raced for himself. Kinda worrisome.

Two years ago at the Superstock Teams, they were forced to compress the programme on the first night after the marathon effort to get the track race-ready. Now it seems that Bruce and Puk have seen the benefits of doing the tosses before the meeting, and having both teams do their warm-up laps simultaneously. It has probably taken 30-45 minutes off the length of the meeting. Instead of rushing off to beat the traffic last night I went and had a chat to some of the Vulcans guys in the pits afterwards, and I was still home in Wanganui by 11.15pm. That's the mark of a well-run meeting, so well done Palmy and I will definitely be back tonight!
