Being a non-remit year we will be voting at the AGM for our esteemed Directors.
Off the top of my head nominations close 60 days prior to the commencement of the AGM. Now I'm no mathematician but we must be almost bang on the 60-day threshold.
So my question is who is putting their name forward and who won't be seeking another term?
Who would you like to see put their name forward?

Now I'm no mathematician...... Don't you do a bit of counting (of beans perhaps?) in your job? I'd have thought being reasonable at number was a prerequisite....... Ummmmm, I'd like to see Hadleigh Smith put his name forward. He is young and has heaps to offer over a long period of time I feel. I've always been against Director's being directly involved in the promotion of their local speedway as well, but our talent pool lacks depth from what I can see, and it'd arguably be detrimental to rule such people out. There are a couple of NI'ers who have plenty of fight and skills too, but I suspect they're both too tied up at a local level to want to join the SNZ head table. Barry B

After reading your posts all season ,Percy , I think you have a strong chance of showing some form of change ,in style for SNZ,so dont hesitate in applying for a position . New or Old blood is better than that is spilling on the floor at the moment .Plus you have a birdie to keep you updated on different points of view just in case .

I have heard through the grapevine that Alan Luoni aka MoonGoon has been approaoched to put his name forward or someone has nominated him. As we all have opinions, I'm just wondering what your thoughts are on this

So all 6 current directors have nominated themselves to continue and by the look of their respective blurbs they all seem pretty happy with the current composition of the board!
There are 4 new nominations being: - Joe Faram - Joanne Gaudion - Colin Matthews - Darren Nankivell
My opinion is that Joe Faram is a very strong candidate and I think he would add something to the current board. I would be surprised if any of the other 3 make it but if any of them do I'm sure they will make a good fist of being a Board Member.

I would be surprised if any of the other 3 make it but if any of them do I'm sure they will make a good fist of being a Board Member. Interesting analysis Percy. While Joe is the highest profile directorial candidate to the casual spectator, to those that have attended the last 5 years of SNZ conference the 3 other names are certainly familiar, and have been key figures at Cromwell, Hawkes Bay, and Ruapuna Speedways, and have all put themselves foward pro actively in most discussions at conference. Intererstingly enough all have open wheel affiliations. Lets also not forget Joe also raced sprintcars for a spell. Joe is a successfull businessman with a large number of years racing at the top level, and would add something to the board, as I am sure (judging on past performances at conference) Jo, Colin and Darren would, given the large number of years they have been promoting tracks, competiing, and contributing the direction of SNZ through attending conference, being a part of the remit process, representing there competitor base, and or their club/promotional team committees. A different but equally important set of skills I suggest. Given the above I am not sure Joe is stronger than the other three - I would suggest that all are strong candidates. Which may or may not make some of the incumbants nervous. Must also note that while Darren has long been a staunch Ruapuna advocate in the last 12 months he was a furious competitor in the modified class at Woodford Glen Speedway
