Both work fine but i would never waste my time with the older recharge every week model. Start the car and the transponder works with the new wire in model. one less job to do during the week too.

Thanks guys I was leaning towards the wire in one but had heard people saying they had issues. I forget to charge the camera let alone having to worry about making sure the transponder is charged

i think there were issues early on with the hardwire ones? but now have been sorted. i wired mint to the main ignition key and an earth and have had no trouble.
mine even managed to get a broken plastic mount and is still working. just be sure to follow the mounting instructions and you will have no issues

Knowing a little about lap scoring and if it was me ... ;-) .... I would go with the "Wired" version.
If you are in a contact class I would tend to solider the terminals and / or bolt all connections.
Mounting is the most important part, keep away from exhaust heat and make sure it has a clear and unobstructed view to the ground.
If in doubt ask you local scrutineers for the "Coat Hanger" to check the mounting. The rule book has some good instructions on mounting.
