Hi Everyone, I plan to keep you all informed going forward so there are no surprises. I will endeavour to do this on Magors, our new website (still being constructed) and the new Baypark Family Speedway Facebook. Sign in, green sheeting and track fence erection is on 5th October starting at midday. SNZ will also be there to talk about safety and the new straight lining rules. The first practise is the following Saturday 11th, starting at 2.00pm the following Saturday is the second practise also starting at 2.00pm. As well as our contacted classes of sprintcars, super saloons saloons, stock cars, super stocks and ministocks, we also welcome both midgets and 6 shooters to these practises. I will post the full calendar shortly, however it is still subject to some subtle changes. I look forward to seeing you all at Baypark Family Speedway - "A great place to race" Kind regards Bernie Gillon

I've needed all the practice I can get in the past and from memory haven't been turned down from attending a saloon practice at tracks I intend to visit but not contracted to. A phone call first.
There is more confusion over 'what constitutes a practice', three being the SNZ requirement. Interpreted differently all around the country.
Be good if tracks had a pre-season informal evening over a cuppa, with officials, volunteers, to chat through the (race) rules, any changes, perhaps a new focus, idea sharing.

Hi Rossco,
You are probably correct, however my focus is to give the drivers, crews and cars that have contracted to Baypark the opportunity to practise, test and set up their cars.
I am also aware that there are many first time competitors in different classes that are contracting to Baypark so it is important that they get every opportunity to get up to speed.
The more classes that I allow to practise means the less time that I can give to the above competitors.
I am sure that you understand mate
Kind regards
Bernie

Bernie, do you have any issues with non-contracted competitors participating in practices with your contracted classes. I'm reading your reply as saying, "don't turn up at BP with your production saloon (or any class that BP doesn't race), but otherwise you're welcome."

Murray, If the class is practising at Baypark Family Speedway then anyone who competes in that class is welcome to attend irrespective of where they are contracted to.
When a class goes out for, say a 6 lap practise, it takes about the same time irrespective of how many cars are on the track.
We just don't have the time to run 10 different class practises without compromising the amount of laps that our contracted classes could run.
At the end of the day, everyone is welcome, my only requirement is to bring a positive attitude
regards
Bernie

I have heard rumour of a truck show similar to the one held earlier this year but I have no solid info on it as yet.
I am fairly sure that Alex Salter arranged the last one so I guess that she will be doing the same again.
Regards
Bernie

Great start!
An opportunity to visit Baypark with your saloon, stock car, etc in an informal non-competitive setting . May well result in more visitors on race nights, more contracted drivers.
