Wow, if that star studded line up doesn't light your fire, float your boat, flick the switch, light your candle, nothing will.Looks like all roads lead to Baypark.

I hope it's not one of those surprises that would have attracted more people through the gate had they simply known about it.

Baypark Family Speedway are certainly putting a lot of effort into spreading the 'gospel according to speedway'. Online and print media is pumping out the news ...
PS: My own little bit of editing down the RHS!

I thought it was a well run meet with some great action .good to see some good stockcar action with some good hits .Track was good and smooth and a little dusty at times. All in all well worth the money

I would say with a little optmisin that crowd ,became bored ,the dust factor is of annoyance if you are a stranger to this venue ,something promotion has to work on to keep the paying public through its gates .Lets hope the start of the season is not going to be a rehearsal of this great venues events during through out the calender as it unfolds .

Agree with Midway..far too dusty and the Midget feature was boring to be blunt. Im pretty sure the same 2 midgets spun out twice (caused stoppages) and were re-run….time was ticking and the Super Saloons definately got the bitter end of the stick. Dust was very bad in turns 1 and 2...

First up meeting for the new promotion of Bernie Gillon and Baypark Family Speedway from where I sat, momentarily as a competitor, mostly as a spectator, a 7/10 start, from me a high rating BUT deserved! The atmosphere on arriving was welcoming, friendly and the pits were packed.
It was evident that the track hadn't been prepared as time and the weather had allowed, a week or so back and this disappointed - guessing it reflected meeting the needs (wants) of the midget and sprint car competitors rather than the balance of the classes and, most importantly, the spectators.
Effort of the night to Nige 63a Super Saloon, still putting his car together for green sheeting at 5.30pm. Saloon racing very tidy and fast! Stock cars got into the action. Midget Feature 25 laps took up 25 minutes and denied us the Super Saloon Feature, an exact repeat of the final night at Baypark earlier in the year!
Like it not, midget and sprintcars chew up time, push starts and restarts. It's wrong that over driving, lack of driver discipline should result in other classes and competitors, and the spectators being penalised. The sooner a the number of laps and a predetermined start and finish time per race is implemented the happier this spectator will be. 12 laps 10 minutes. All races would be undertaken as per program and competitor and spectator expectations. The push start class features should last on the program as at Baypark, provided a race starts prior to 9.50pm, it can finish after 10pm, as late as 10:20pm for a championship event.
The saloon class (15 present with visitors) has certainly two distinct groups. Those that are passed and those that do the passing. Baypark's 18 metre wide straights certainly provides for 'fasted off the rear and handicapping' which would greatly enhance the spectacle, but it appears unacceptable for reasons unknown.
Yip, Bernie can be quietly pleased with his efforts first up with a relatively solid foundation on which to move forward!
