Spoke to Scott last week , said that he wasn't racing at this stage and was spending time with his family with hopes that his car would sell . Did say that he didn't have to sell the car and may race it later on down the track. You have to admire the guy for what he chooses to do and it wont be the last we see Scott Hewson competing in the Superstock ranks.
Cant see any intentions of him retiring , more so taking a break ..

Hi Mate , 37R has had some massive changes and will give a few surprises when she hits the track. Unfortunately she will not be at the opening as the engine is not ready at this stage .. cheers

Just got off phone to Darcy Snr "Russell Hunter (138 R?) will be racing at Paradise Valley this season driving a Toyota V 8. Gary (93 R) and Ken (37R) will also be there, both driving SVO Ford V 8's. All three cars won't be too far away. Ken will be coming back from Australia to race the 37 R that is having a major engine overhaul. Darcy Jnr will be driving ocasionally"

and again.... just got off phone talking to Mark Flower and he has given me permission to put this over Macgors "yes there are two separate cars, my brother Steve is racing 63 R and I'm 65 R. Steven's car is nearly 3/4 finished and will be ready for the second half of the season. His car is a Westbury chassis with a Nissan Hartley V 8. Until his car is ready both Steve and I will be sharing the 65 R. My car will be out this weekend at Paradise Valley and it's had a major engine overhaul so we're ready to go. Frankie will be driving it again at the 240's and I get a buzz from seeing him race it while I scrape the mud off although we were lucky last year as there wasn't too much damage! Don't tell the others though! We have been spendng a lot of time in the shed with Pat Westbury - he's a quite fussy in making sure the car is set up properly but he is good value as a mentor. My hand is just recovering from a bad break from a work accident so Steve drove the last half of last season. I'm looking forward to local meetings at Paradise Valley, North Island champs at Napier and NZ's at Wellington"
