Stands were not what you would call Full . My guess 7/8000, about normal for a fireworks night, but thought may have been more given the great weather. Helliva lot outside the stadium and on the highway parked up as I left!

Stands were not what you would call Full . Were you expecting it to be full? Big stadium, lots of seats, only a normal night? Different story if they were to get NZ's superstocks. Bernie may shed some light on attendance?

7/8000 is not a bad attendance Murray . Guy Fawkes always attracts a decent crowd .. They normally pack into the Northern end of the Stadium a bit more . Must have all decided to spread out lastnite lol..
Tank , have attended Baypark enough times to know that the place never gets to the stage where its hard to find a seat , but know that the Fireworks Meetings normally attract a fairly large crowd ..

Talking of starts, had the comment passed by a spectator , "what a slick slow'! Referring to one class off and another on! A happy punter.
Anyway, back to starts, specifically super saloon and saloon starts. I rapidly developed the thought that race start rules and racing rules for saloons had changed, along with prescribed penalties, along with the Governments 'tea breaks'! A bit of research / refresher finds they haven't, just that perhaps a few more need to read them, apply them and enforce them. Make for interesting reading, all quite simple!

Whatever peoples problems with Baypark it would be hard to argue with the quality of racing last evening, particularly in the Feature races. It was outstanding. Also the limited number of stockcars went out of their way to put on a good show. I've been to meetings with a lot more cars and seen less hits. I don't live in NZ anymore and rarely get back, but had a great time. Also the people working there where really friendly and helpful. Huge ups to the stockcar driver who let my kids climb into his car and get some photos taken. It was their first time at a Speedway and they loved it. We wish the new administration well and if you carry on in this way things can only go forward.

5000 people at most other tracks is absolutely chocker, so being a bit mean criticising Baypark.
The last few NZ superstock champs have been chocker, but the venues were tiny. They'd seriously struggle to have pushed 5,000. I recall last time that event was at Palmy it wasn't exactly a full house either..
Baypark is a great venue, too big in hindsight for speedway and not ideal for rugby but still pretty good.

I wonder what palmy crowd numbers were I reckon it was 3 quarters full and at a guess would say 10000 or more

Bit of old fashioned fun, frowned on by some, discouraged by a few, enjoyed by the majority ...
