Has any one got any updates or photo's of the new radical Blondie super saloon and when is it expected to hit the track. With the nationals on 16/17th Jan, Blondie will be wanting to iron out any bugs before then. Doesn't he have to compete in 3 mtgs in the super saloon class this season to be eligible for the champs having not competed in the class the previous season?. Await this machine with anticipation, as Blondie and his unusual machines have never failed to impress ,and the titles and results show that. A lot has changed in the class since he last competed in it, but he wouldn't put his reputation on the line if he thought both himself and car weren't up to it.

Check out Skinnys Facebook page, I see a couple of pics there of it. Very radical and very odd, but it is Blondie after all. If anyone can make it work its him.

HYPERMAC Thanks joker9377. All I can say it's a lot different to a Hypermac or any other present chassis, but most of Blondies cars are ugly ducklings but he has the last laugh with titles and trophys. Have just returned from Big Boys Toys and here is a couple of rotary motors, 1st Mad Mikes Drift Motor, 2nd Rotary powered dragster.

Look forward to seeing this beast to see how it goes. Interesting to note the most complete picture of the car has a v8 in it?

The one with the v8 in it is a Hypermac, just thrown in to give a bit of comparison how different Blondies chassis construction is to other super saloon chassis's. Should be an interesting greensheeting. If it's found to be not legal it will be a nervous official who doesn't stamp the log book. Blondie will have read the rule book thoroughly and interpret ways around to be legal.

Hopefully it makes it out. I listened too the excellent interview with Blondie about the car on the pits radio show, but it seemed like it might be a way off as the engine costs were greater than anticipated, which may have been part of the slowing of progress.
Does anyone have any idea of the sort of rotor is is? And what sort of power does a supercharged rotor put out?
And one other rule I thought went hand in hand with supersaloons was the spark plug had to be in line with the front axle - however in this instance its a long way behind. Perhaps the engine move is still to happen.
Can't wait to see the blonde one out there. Just a small reminder for some of those short in the tooth from our mate macgor.

I thought the same but apparently - this is according to skinny colson who has had a look at the car - the engine is in the right position and the gearbox, supercharger and carbs etc are all behind it to allow for the way the chassis was constructed. in general supercharged rotors can put out a huge amount of hp - but they have to rev insanely to give top end power because of a small displacement - I would be surprised if he cant drag 600 or 700hp out though. a turbo rotor suffers mostly from lag - I think with the constant boost a supercharger gives he wont have much of an issue keeping up!

Mr Chamberlain and Mr Colson had many a duel and were a show never to be missed ,they made there own treadplate in this sport , shame it doesnt continue ,but they have so much knowledge ,

The last time I saw Blondie and Skinny going head to head was at Rotorua where they went full noise side by side lap after lap with neither of them willing to give an inch but on the tight track we all knew something would have to give and it did . Ended with one of them upside down at the exit of turn two but danged if I can remember which one. Duh.

From SNZ Website, rule book 2014. M 4-7-1 N.I, S.I , and NZ Championships. [ a ] NZ Residents [1] Must have raced in that class for a minimum of three meetings in the current season, or [2] Have raced in that class for a minimum of three meetings in the previous season and a minimum of one meeting in the current season.
These rules have been around since day dot for competing in title meetings, just pointing out how many meetings need to be competed in{ CLASS }in which competitor is competing in.
