certainly looks like no speedway at that location, I assume the motorsports being catered for are all to run in daylight.

Great Christmas gift from such a dysfunctional council ,Maybe some of the new councillors bought up apartments in the old Lunn ave quarry and dont enjoy the entertainment of others that have a kart club close by which has been there for many years . Speedway will find it hard to survive in the comfort zone of others in jaffa land ,and should be thinking outside the square for a suitable venue ,rather than Mt Smart as the population expands noise control already exists from neighbourhood residents, and land lords .

A new kart track, why? Anyone looked at the state of official kart sport in nz. Not looking flash, unfortunately another arm of Motorsport which has driven competitors away due to chequebook racing, conflicts of interest and over complication. The offshoot dirt clubs like te aroha and manukau probably got more members than the combined North Island. Speedway is huge in comparison to kart sport yet why is it so hard to get a suitable facility?

Your not wrong, Te Aroha dirt karts membership has blown out this season with approx 170 karters signed up so far. Manukau Kart Speedway Club is building nicely but misses out on a bigger sign up due to no junior classes at present. This is being discussed and we should see some changes here soon. Be nice to have an oval Kart/solo track at the Manukau facility, but being run by 3 affiliations I wont hold my breath. We currently use the infield of Waikaraka & Meremere Historic track but with the grandstand issue in Akl we struggle with spectator seating lol. Plenty of room at this Manukau site for all of us. C'mon Len Get ya vroom on.
