Hey speedwaykitty, Had a look on the Rotorua website and halfway down on left hand side headed "240's & teams tickets" you can purchase in advance. I've purchased my flight tickets from Chch for this event and will look at purchasing tickets in advance next month. It's a meeting I won't miss with what appears to be 14 teams confirmed! The track size and 4 v 4 teams on track means in my opinion it's an open field and no team can be discounted. If you choose to come what team will you support? www.rotoruaspeedway.co.nzHey Tiroto, not 100% sure if I'm going yet, still pushing figures around, so don't want to pre-book. Only one team to support. .... pumas all the way They are selling both pre-booked and gate sales on the night. The pre sales just gets you in, it isn't allocated seating so still need to get there early to get a good seat. Pumas and Panthers are the best teams!

Oh, should be there early enough if I go, sheesh, sat at Welly for half a day to make sure we had good seating lol Most definitely Panthers & Pumas

Between turn 2 and 3 normally good or at lease u want to sit some where to see the whole track then turn 1 or just by turn 4 . I can't wait , it will be a great meeting to work at and I hope we get a good crowd and we can hold it next year again

Going on the 240s it will be anywhere not covered in a tarp after lunch which hopefully is looked at same as has been done at the superstock teams, reality is that with the terraces there really isn't a bad spot to view from

Hey Dylanh, Here's a write up from Percy's website including "best spot to sit": www.speedwaynz.awardspace.com/tracks/rotoruaRotorua Speedway "Location - The track is located in the heart of the Paradise Valley which is a convenient 5 minute drive from the city centre. From the north go past the gondola's and turn right at the first big intersection. Go over the weird speed humps and all the way to the end of that road before turning right again. The carpark and track are on your left. Parking - A large parking area caters for most meetings. For a big meeting the car park will fill up and fans may find themselves directed to a nearby farmers paddock. To exit the carpark head to the far end (if possible), in the couter-intuitive direction. There is the quickest way to exit the carpark. Premiere Meeting - The World 240's Superstock event is one of the premiere events of the summer. The event typically attracts all the top Superstock drivers. Throw in overseas drivers and the tight Rotorua track and this is one event not to be missed. Get there early for this one folks, the event attracts massive crowds. Also worth attending - The Easter Extravaganza typically attracts very strong fields across all classes. But this meeting is as much known for its inhospitable conditions as it is for the racing. Thermal underwear, woollen socks, beanie's, blankets and sleeping bags are all essential items for viewing this meeting. Best spot to sit - A plethora of great viewing spots are available. Perhaps the best of them is high up in turn three, way above the action. But such is the angle of the terracing there is not a bad seat in the house. Classes run - Youth Ministocks, Stockcars, Superstocks, Minisprints, Modifieds, Production Saloons, Saloons Uniqueness - There is nowhere to hide on this track. Rotorua is a perilously narrow and short track, making it perfect for Stockcar racing. The track is of unique consistency and is perhaps the only track in the country that can be rescued when insufficient moisture is beneath the top surface."

One reason that we have already got our tickets is to spread the cost. It is nice to have a bit more spending money in the wallet on trips away so buying tickets early certainly does that.

Don't get me wrong, I love going to Paradise Valley Raceway, but when it comes to seating I do have one little frustration. I travel from out of town so don't bring along my deck chair which is almost a mandatory piece of equipment when going to this venue. The thing that frustrates me is when you sit on the straight looking across at the pits and you sit hard against the terrace on one of the wooden benches someone then sits along from you in a deck chair hard up against the edge (I'm sure those who have been there understand what I mean). This results in your view of the corner being obscured!!!

I've traveled all over this fair land in order to attend some of the best speedway meetings and I can honestly say one of the first items packed has always been the deck chairs. Not quite sure why you don't bring yours but usually it's about priorities.

Magor it's not about the deck chairs as such it's just I wish everyone in a row was either sitting forward or sitting back (which I know won't happen). It's when you are sitting back (either in a deck chair or on the wooden seats) and someone plonks themselves down forward in the row in a deck chair and all of a sudden you can't see the corner.

Yes I do know what you mean but I don't know of a cure short of narrowing up the terracing so people are forced to sit in one row. I doubt it's practicable to move the wooden seating to the front of the row either as an option b. Really as always it's best to be early and don't forget the blardy chairs.

Etiquette would be if your on a deck chair sit back off the edge and if your on the ground sit forward but don't stand around in the way during racing. Now we all know this doesn't happen and probably won't happen in a few weeks but it takes place everywhere. I lose track of how many times I tell people to sit down at palmy teams. By the time finals night comes around it is usually a different phrase I use for repeat offenders
