Probably a bit soon but I now think this has all the makings of the meeting of the year for the contact class. Yes the Palmy teams are one heck of an event, but with 14 teams, and the recent additions to Gisborne, this will make this an event that you wont want to miss. It is going to have more interest and on a stock car track you cannot hide on it will mean on heck of a challenge for drivers, crews and managers alike. Rotorua has had some brilliant meetings, but I think this might just get to the top of the tree there.

Agree - Mintie. Genuinely looking forward to this teams event - not having it in Wgtn or Palmy for the first time since whenever and as you said add in the Rees factor to make a strong Gizzie outfit and it is mouthwatering! I think I've got 15 of the 16 teams but I've missed the 16th team. Where's the line-up listed? Is it another South Island team?
Auckland Waikato Rotorua Bay Park Gisborne Hawkes Bay Palmerston North Stratford Wanganui Weliington Nelson Blenheim Christchurch Greymouth Westport ? You doing commentating with Paul?

I to think this is going to be the event of the year on a track that is in my opinion 1 of the best if not the best stockcar track in the country and deffinatly evens all teams up for a victory.

I don't think I'm quite in the "Bomber" Hobbs or "Bomber" Britten category but yeah, the plan is to have me there looking after those two young fellas.......... Barry B

Not the same without the three commentators. Here's why: In the Christian faith, the number 3 is by the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), Goldilocks and the 3 bears. The 3 little pigs. The 3 Musketeers. The 3 Stooges. 3 is the smallest number of people you gather and have an outsider. Looking forward to the 3 commnetators at Rotorua!

There will be lots of 3 wise men there but they won't have anything to do with presenting the meeting. They will all sit in huddles on the terraces correcting anything and everything that doesn't happen as it should. They attend every speedway meeting.

With me heading up to Rotorua for stockcar teams and not been to the Rotorua track for a long time, hope I get the opportunity to catch up with Barry B & hopefully get to meet the (in)famous Macgor. Meeting Mintie would be good too, after all his commentary at the NZ supers. As to the 3 wise men picking up all the errors, I am sure that there will be more than 3, then all the ones behind the keyboards

Barry Barry Barry - whichever of you three is the oldest is the Father (either you or Mintie) and full of the most wisdom. He represents to speedway fans and drivers alike the soothing voice of reason and unerring accuracy, wit and care - perfect characteristics of what a father is like in a fatherless generation . The son (Paul) well he's the representation of the Father and does what the Father wants (in a respectful way), he tells stories over the microphone (slightly exaggerated) that have hidden meanings that leave speedway fans speechless and scratching their heads in amazement (Bay Park supporters), he brings meetings alive and challenges the establishment (SNZ), he feeds the poor (turn 2 Paradise Valley), he heals the sick (between turn 1 and 2 Paradise Valley) and cares for the marginalised (Palmy supporters) while the Spirit - he's hard to control and he is like the wind it blows wherever it wants and you can hear it but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, he could turn up in the strangest places in Paradise Valley, turn 1, 2, 3 or 4 or even 5 or even Stan's water truck!! Goldilocks well she's beautiful but she is also intrusive, bit abrasive, slightly naive but ultimately successful but she also opens up latches she shouldn't and gets in trouble and it take an Army to rescue her! Hmmmmmmm......let me think!

well Barry is older than me, so I'm either the Holy Spirit or Goldilocks, and just so you know I'm the serious one of the 3 and the other 2 use me as their "fall guy" and seeing your explanation of the Spirit I'm pretty sure that me He still has a good set of hair,

He's the handsome smiley one with glasses. Mintie bit harder to grab hold of but I think he'll be hanging round the commentator's box area in pits - or by the hot dog vans! Same as Barry! When you do meet them here's some of their favourite questions to ask: What was the best compliment you rceived? What did you do last birthday? Have you ever been pulled over by a cop? What was you last lie? Seriously though they are fantastic guys go and enjoy!
