This is the latest from Kyles mum Donna, once again we respect there privacy and appreciate the updates when they can...thank you (I have copied this from Kyle's page from his mum) 'We would like to thank everyone for the continued support and well wishes for Kyle. We are blown away by the amount of people sending messages. He is still in an induced coma so his brain can rest and get the time it needs to start to heal. We still don't know exactly how long it will be before they start to wake him but the doctors are happy with how he is progressing. Donna and Steve

An incident happened until Kyle gets better. And the news from his mum sounds very promising. Hope he gets better soon

Another update from Donna:
We have an update on Kyle. This afternoon he had surgery to take the pressure off his brain. It went well and he is now back in ICU. He remains in an induced coma to keep him comfortable and give his brain time to start to heal. Once again thank you for all of the support and well wishes for Kyle, it does help and keeps us positive and we are overwhelmed at amount of people sending support for him. Donna & Steve

For people wanting to support Kyle (and are on FB) then
First, look at the raffle on the McKenzie motorsport Facebook page and even if you dont want a ticket, just make a donation. Personally I reckon they could get $50 for the ticket not $5 given the prizes and the cause but never mind.
Secondly. Racers see Brendon at Palmy tonight or Asher at Wanganui on Sunday to get a sticker for their car. Does not mention money but if there is not then I reckon pop a donation in the McKenzie fund.
Isn't it great to see these young guys looking out for eachother?

I'm limiting updates on the Wanganui Warriors FB page to those which come directly from the family Barry. Steve, Donna and Annaliese want privacy, but they are making an effort to keep Kyle's many speedway friends and fellow competitors up to date with progress.
The outpouring of concern has really touched them, and everyone involved both at Wanganui Speedway and further afield. Brendon Learmonth from Square Photography has partnered with Asher Rees and Kenley Brown to produce stickers which will be available to drivers at Palmerston North tonight and at Wanganui tomorrow. A raffle has been organised by McKenzie Motorsport in Nelson. Wanganui is working on its own response, but the club is waiting to see how Kyle progresses before making any announcements. But the speedway family has shown its best side over the last week, pulling together for the welfare of a fellow racer and friend; that's fantastic.

Thanks Kyle's mum for the update WE HAVE NEWS ! Today Kyle opened his eyes, he has had his ventilator tube removed. He has spoken a few words and is able to squeeze our hands etc. We have a long road ahead, but he is a fighter and he will continue to get stronger. All of your support has been incredible and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Keep it coming, it's working people! Donna and Steve

It is fantastic news and we are with you in spirit from over here in Gisborne, yes a long road but there will be improvements each day and great milestones, the brain repairs itself over time, you have a very special son there and your family and friends including the speedway fraternity will be there along the way to support you. Rex & Del Nield, Gisborne

From "Lets Go Racing Wanganui" FB page: "Kyle would like to say thank you to everyone for all of their support. We have been delayed going to Christchurch for rehab, hopefully it will be next week but it all depends on his MRI results for his spine. He continues to suffer from short term memory loss so we take each day as it comes. Kyle still has a long recovery ahead but has made good progress so far and each day is made a little easier knowing everyone is cheering him on. Donna" jpg images
