Has there been any updates on whether the Promotion will accept the apparent entry request from Gisborne? Be hard to understand why a Team from a legitimate SNZ track wouldn't be accepted? maybe because they could decide to boycott a week out from the event again.

i don't think the promotion would be to pleased with loosing the only draw card they had. (or so you would think with the amount of fuss that was dished out afterwards.) it would seem the panthers managed to survive without them... Yeah, they did ok. the loss of the rees family in palmy will be massive I for one travel from taranaki to palmy most week-ends and with less action on the track without them will be thinking twice before travelling away from my home track as gisborne is a we bit to far palmy,s loss gisborne,s gain

There's nothing to stop them racing in PN on weekends Gissy isn't racing of course. I'm interviewing Pete for an NZDTR story next weekend, so that should turn into I pretty good read I'm imagining.......

It would be good if Rees Race cars could provide their racing itinery if possible for the rest of the season as they also in my opinion were the main drawcard and reason for my friends and family attending speedway in Palmerston North. It would good to plan where I am going to spend my speedway dollars for the rest of season and beyond

Barry B That first sentence should be "There's nothing to stop them racing anywhere at anytime, they just need a clearence from Gissy if they are racing that weekend of course". But you're right Palmy would be a logical choice.

At the time i though it would appear below it and be totally obvious. Little did I realise it'd jump to the next page Barry B

Very fast and talented for sure, but I would say that 90% of time that I have seen them race that is pretty much all they do. Given the number of cars there is in Palmy I find it to be the most underwhelming venue to visit - unless there are top class entertainers like Dion Mooney there. I would rate him well above P Rees on the draw card scale! (now wait for hate mail from the Rees fan club for not idolising the ground they spit on - he says to himself)

Any further updates about what teams are entering? Only 2 weeks to go and not a lot of info around. The Rotorua Rebels have a team meeting on Monday night to discuss there plans and if they will attend or not,the Gisborne Giants will not be there, this year and the Stratford Scrappers are the only other team that has shown some interest, they will make a decision in the next few days (could be a surprise or two)there was talk of a N.I Select Team to make up numbers but it hasn't got any further then a discussion. So confirmed teams so far are the Auckland Allstars Manawatu Mustangs Nelson Tigers Palmerston North Panthers Hawkes Bay Hawkeyes Of note there was only 7 teams in attendance last year but the racing was still well worth attending, and no one can forget 5A Gavin Taniwha sending 19m Kerry Remnant in to the launch position on turn two

11a Hodge and 5a Ridland were both running at Huntly tonight - so that's half the Auckland Team all go! The Ridland Chev must be running ok - 45r Nick Vallance couldn't reel him in for the lead.

so as prophesized the giants have been rejected according to the post by markus. clearly they already had the numbers for a team otherwise they would not have made the request....
