I am happy to get something rather than nothing, though I am gutted half of the time. I have ,ini missed the screen and the last race ran through without interruption. Fingers crossed though it has just stopped while I type this. Time to shut the open windows!

It was nothing short of a disgrace and almost constituted theft of the money to purchase it. Worst coverage I have seen. More interested in self image than delivering a quality product. I wouldn't watch it if it were free coverage

Hi Team, we were assisting with the stream from Rotorua tonight. Unlike other tracks with fibre or other reliable types of land-based uplink, satellite is our only option at Paradise Valley, Rotorua. We believe we were greatly affected by the weather (Metservice had been forecasting thunderstorms for the area). Streaming was smooth until just after 8pm. I took this shot of the rain radar at 8pm: And this shot of the rain radar at 9pm: After 10pm the heavy cloud cleared and streaming was smooth again. So I don't think anyone can complain, what was available was delivered on a best-efforts basis - and weather affecting speedway is one of those things we all have to roll with from time to time. To do right by the viewers who paid tonight, a full HD replay is being uploaded and will be available tomorrow morning. Good news for tomorrow - Metservice is forecasting clear skies for the afternoon and evening.

Weather forecast is better for tonight, I think we'll give it another crack. I love how all the sookers thing that they are going to be purchasing a sky sport quality live broadcast or something. If all you people want amazing quality streams, then perhaps you should crowdfund fiber to every speedway track in the country.

Seeing as how you and a lot of others (that don't mind throwing money away) mention Sky, look at it this way - I pay $100 a month for Sky so on a 30 day month that cost me a little under $0.14/hour, so for a speedway event of 3hrs it would cost me 42cents, live streaming is $23-35, bloody oath I expect it to work.

Sky have far, far more subscribers paying $0.14c per hour, which provides them with a hell of lot more money to provide a better quality 3 hour production. Unfortunate the reality is that the low numbers of people paying $30.00 would provide a total budget for lesser quality equipment. If it was viable, economically, for Sky to broadcast live from speedway using their equipment, they probably would. Or maybe they would do it on a pay-per-view basis. Wonder how much they would have to charge for that to break even?

I purchased last nights racing and experienced similar problems that others did BUT I knew going in not to expect high quality and possible problems. When SKY first started I remember experiencing transmission problems (pre Satelite)and even now occsionally weather can affect things. I believe those behind the coverage did their best and I encourage them to keep persisting and anyone disappointed with the end result should alter their expectations. One thing I did last night was switch between the streamed coverage and "live-laps" which for me filled in the gaps and gave instant results as well. Good luck tonight.

It should be free tonight, last night was pathetic we didnt see anything. Its the equivilent to payper view,if that happened with sky ppv therw would be full refund or next event free. Saying its low budget and bad weather is a fair call but sort the most important thing first the customers who payed good money for nothing.

now need a weather thread for the livestream by the looks. It would have been nice for speedbox to let people know before they purchased that they themselves knew cloud cover would mean crap viewing.

Clear skies appear to have made a big difference with some great images coming via the satellite tonight. Here's a screenshot in case you were wondering:
