Not knocking, just asking.
1)Is there not a 2 week stand down between changing clubs?
2)Can you have a super in one club and a stock in another? Mark Osbourne couldn't? (Rotorua/Christchurch?)
3) If 2 is no, how are they to race in Rotorua the week after if 1 is correct? As they are now in the Scrappers super team.
I like the fact the Rees are helping out the other clubs, but there are rules to follow.

Are they contracting to them or just running in a teams race.
Look how many ring ins there are each year for different teams

1) No
2) M6-3-3 Competitors must nominate the class or classes they wish to licence from those available at their home track. M6-3-4 Extension to compete in classes not available at their home track must be made to the Steward at a track where the class is being raced.
You could only have a Superstock at one track and a Stockcar at another track if you could find a track that only contracted one of those classes. My understanding is that Gisborne do contract both Stockcars and Superstocks (as of about 2 weeks ago).
A good example of this in action is Jamie Larsen. Minisprint contracted to Palmy, Sprintcar to Auckland. Even though Palmy does contract Sprintcars if Jamie nominates his "home track" as Western Springs he is free to register his Minisprint at Palmy as Minisprints are not a contracted class at Western Springs.

So no 2 week stand down,I was told there was by a stock car rep.
So for Auckland you don't need to register to the club (ie a true ring in) They were running in Palmy last week as a "G", so like you say were registered through Gis.

there used to be a stand down, however I think that vanished a number of years ago.

Seems to be who ever will take them at the moment doesn't it. Sign writers on a win.

It would be easy for them to do a minimal schedule for the rest of the season but they've chosen to explore the options and put on a show for the fans. Good on them.

They at least tried entering a team from the track they contract to, that fell through and are now adding to another team for the fans to enjoy. Im sure they just wanna enjoy the sport that theyve pursued for many years, surely its time to just let them be and stop with all the politics of finding obscure rules to argue about regarding if they are doing things legitimately. If the teams been included in the event then it must be legal

I think a lot of these keyboard racers are just stirrers GO THE GLADIATORS Just because someone asks a doesnt mean they are stirring. Its a basic democratic right to ask questions, only those with things to hide will accuse those who ask questions. Thus far the questions, and replies have been respectful - strange for this board i know............

A few weeks back Aaher was 1NZ and his old man was possibly the best stockcar driver we will ever see (and also 1NZ) Now they are talked about as if they are outsiders, all because of a decision they made. I don't agree with how things happened but I've made a few bad ones over the years and so have most of you (including Pete, Asher, Kerry, Bruce) Shouldn't we just get back to enjoying the spectacle they put on? The last thing we need is for them to go fishing.

Bruce?? don't know anybody in particular called Bruce made any bad decisions Kerry?? can only imagine where youre goin with this.. but best decision he hes made lately was to dig his toes in and not stand down! but do agree let's just go racing

I think a lot of these keyboard racers are just stirrers GO THE GLADIATORS Ahh, not in this case. Was a legit question, as I was told by rep about stand downs between changing clubs. One thing with me, I will ask questions if I don't know the answer. I remember Mark O not allowed cars in different clubs.

Did a long and very enjoyable interview with Pete over the just completed Rotorua teams weekend, which will appear in the April issue of NZDTR. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but always frank, so IF I can translate what we spoke about onto paper it'll be a very good read, and certainly (hopefully) answer a few peoples questions.

Look forward to reading that article . Put on a fine display of teams racing at Rotorua , we all gave Pete credit for his outstanding driving skills but Asher is right there with him. Ethan Rees is only young and new to the contact classes but what a clever and outstanding young driver .

Ethan Rees is only young and new to the contact classes but what a clever and outstanding young driver . Pete has already indicated that he thinks Asher will be better than he ever was, and some wise elder-statesmen drivers suggested to me over the weekend that Ethan may be the best of them all for the reasons you mention. I'm not sure if that's exciting or just plain frightening. Barry B

Frightening for the opposition Barry .. Everyone said they had big boots to fill and Asher has certainly done that, Ethan very close behind . The great part about it is that they are an awesome / down to earth bunch who acknowledge everyone ..

Ethan Rees is only young and new to the contact classes but what a clever and outstanding young driver . Despite all the nonsense talked about Peter Rees lately, I thought it spoke volumes about him that when he got pulled off after half a lap,in the final, he calmly drove off and just parked up. He must have been devastated, but no carrying on like a lunatic! Gotta respect that.
