Poor old HB. Beat the Panthers but fail to make the top 4 out of 6 teams. Talk about win the battle but lose the war. Might have to try and toddle along tomorrow night to see that Scrappers vs Panthers battle.

I'd say so , stopping Peter Bengston was a crucial move. It usually is! Thinking back to other times the Panthers have lost, Bengston was taken out of the picture in most of them. Bengton did the kamikaze hit into the side rail/rear of the 84b tank (5a in disguise) when it was against the wall, and never moved again himself after that. Buckled the wheel and broke the axle/diff in the tank though.

Was a good meeting. Seemed they were a class short maybe ?
The B vs P race was brutal, they came out and did an A Class job on destroying the Panthers. Seems to be the only way to stop them is to smash them hard from the green flag.
Nelson Tigers were on their game and looked to be the best team on the night.
Is it more low key or laid back than Palmy Teams ? I would have thought rules should still apply though ? A lot of cars attacking off grass and Hemi drove down the grass on front straight past 2 other cars and carried on, Or do we just not hear about the behind the scenes stuff ?
All in all a good meeting and tonight should be just as good, if not better

For me last night seemed like it lacked energy, especially compared to last season. It all felt a bit flat. Crowd was small and pretty quiet. The teams racing was good but the rest of the meeting was just a throw away, certainly not worth $30 compared to recent meetings I've attended for the same price. The saloons verged on boring and it was all over just after 9.30. I expect tonight will be better. And who is the commentator who keeps refering to Auckland as jafas?
