been into North Shore hospital today to see Graeme and the Andrew family are trying to get Graeme home by Monday so Mr G can spend what time is left in his place of peace. It's not good but it was nice that Graeme came to to greet Barb and myself what a true gentleman he is and a true fighter a friendship that will never be forgotten ever by us all.

Terrible news to read this morning. Graeme is a true gentleman of our sport. Never nice hearing this sort of thing. Best wishes to Graeme and his family.

That is terrible news. Condolences to the family at this sad and tragic time. Nice that he was still doing what he loved until only just recently.

Knowing Graeme for over 40 year's and seeing Mr G getting married to Caroline having their family, working with him, racing with Graeme he will never be forgotten in this house hold as well. Graeme treat my wife and children with the utmost respect as we did with Graeme and his family. Seeing this very intellectual gentleman going this way is very sad. Graeme was a true gentleman to the dirt oval and was very helpful to other's the respect for his other fellow racer's was impeccable and becoming my best friend, a Brother, a mentor teacher and just been there for us is that word's will never be able to describe Graeme. They broke the casting which formed Graeme when he was born. Graeme taught me and other's so much and in that that is why I will not be following any racing anymore our heart's are broken.

Update. Just been told Graeme may have only 24 hour's to go. Graeme has now slipped into a deep sleep hardly no response now. Has not had anything to eat or drink in quite some time. Time to recall all good time's we all had with Graeme and 98a and crew. Peace to Graeme and family. Wellsford may come to a stand still for some time.

Very touching and emotional updates from Insane 1 and Oz. Competitors and crews of all grades at WP will be feeling the pain the Andrews family are going thru at this difficult time. As I've said on a previous thread, many a night Grahame would be so busy helping other competitors that he would neglect his own vehicle. This is the sort of guy he is, quite but nothing a problem. His mechanical/engineering knowledge is unbelievable and most of all , he would share his knowledge to help others. I'm sure when the time arrives, Grahame will be giving the big fella upstairs chariot a huge make over. Thanks for the memories and also the knowledge you have passed on.

Both Oz and myself worked a lot with grahame tinkering with setup on the car till we got it right that was part of the fun and something I will really miss .the man was a genius 3 or 4 steps ahead of most of us and by the time you thought of some adjustments to do he'd all ready done it.there will be a big void that will never be filled .Martin Luther King had a saying free at last thank god I'm free at last this really applies to grahame when the time comes free from pain and suffering .

This is tragic news. It's at times like these that speedway itself is not important, its about the people and the characters that are brought together by the love of the sport. Grahame is one of those characters that Waikaraka Park will sadly miss. Our thoughts are with Grahame's family and close friends at this most difficult time.
