Pretty sure there will be plenty of red dust, and a ute with 1000 litres of water trying to wet the pole line between races

They threw in a couple of FMX bikes two weeks ago and got the biggest crowd in years. Fireworks brings out the people as well but we just can't get any regular info or updates on the actual racing which is frustrating

"That old chestnut" good luck getting an answer. I wasn`t expecting an `official` reply, just hoping others might have an idea. WP is looking a more likely prospect anyhow, and at least we have an idea of entries. Anthony

I live in Tauranga and I am thinking WP for Sat, and KK on the way home Sunday. Great not to be on call for work.
Certainly have given up on expecting numbers from team BP. Have also stopped spending my money there. I don't need derby's and Fireworks to watch. It may be good for Bernies pocket.
Lack of actual car numbers advertised have led to my lack of attendance. 1 meet since xmas.

Looks good why? Because crackers?
A 15 lap butchers picnic, where if all cars are still going the crowd decides who wins. ( Not a butchers picnic by any means)
Rotorua used to do it properly. Last car moving. A 15 lap race with the crowd deciding the butcher does not make it.

The old BP did them as well.( I raced in them ) Know harm in trying something new. So don't come along as all you do is pregnant dog and and complain anyway

The question was does anyone know who the competitors are? Hardly complaining. Spectators have choices if they go to a local Speedway or travel to a Speedway that advises their Patrons their competitor line up for that meeting. So to say don't come along is hardly a welcome. Not sure if you still race but as patrons subsidise your racing, with out them your entry fee per meeting would hit your pocket fairly hard. Patrons have a right to know what the show is before turning up to something that they would not have attended had they known. Meeting after meeting people have asked for a competitor list to no avail so no wonder people decide not to attend or go else where.

You're right IMO Sonic and Trev, speedway spectating is often a gamble when buying a ticket simply because entry lists are few and far between. So how do we produce reliable entry lists?
Did you know, in Australia, drivers 'nominate' (enter) themselves into an event online (speedway australia website) and that list is then made public close to the event. The issue here in NZ is that promotors cannot be 100% sure competitors are attending (execpt for SNZ Titles), especially given some recent history of competitors (or a whole field of Midgets!) saying they will turn up and then not showing up without letting the promotion know.
Solution, just like the NRL have 'team naming Tuesday' each driver should take 5min out of their day, say on a Thursday, to go online and put their name on an entry list if they are racing that weekend (Or likely to race that weekend, things can happen unexpectedly). No online entry, charge the competitor a late entry fee for the income the track has lost by not being able to promote that car in their entry list.
Educated guess for this weekend
Sprints - 8 - 14 locals with couple of visitors Super Sal - 6 - 10 locals with couple of visitors Saloon - 14 - 18 locals with couple of visitors Stocks - 16 - 24 locals with plenty of visitors Ministocks - 24+

Ol' 'Grandad 13k saloon will be at Baypark, not exactly the highlight for any spectators, but if it's just me I might get to win a race, provided I finish! This is what Kihikihi puts out for the Saloons on Sunday 26th. Fingers crossed we're still mobile ...

Awesome meeting. Fantastic "crackers"(as some moaners called them). Cool Rodney Woods flip. And the butchers picnic stockcars - All I can say is that it was the best stockcar race I have seen in years. Bloody brilliant.
