whats wrong with willie . western springs went good under him ....no ones made bay park what it should/could be so that cant be willies fault either club run tracks seem to self destruct . sadly theres only one bruce! and he probably got enough to do , WP still a work in progress. ps do you think Bernie made any money out of baypark Totally agree with you on this one . Happiest times of racing I ever had was under Willie Kay at BayPark . Was dished a lot of crap while running BP , but I haven't seen anyone do better . Not criticising any promoter at BayPark , it seems to be a nitemare for anyone ..

I suspect the only way BP will ever work to anywhere near its potential is if it's run as an extension of Western Springs. To play to its strengths it needs big fields of Sprintcars and Midgets, Saloons and Super Saloons, on a regular basis. The former two can only happen by working in with their northern neighbor, and by staging a couple of rounds of the BK Series along with a healthier share of Super Saloon NZ, GP and NI titles (which they've never received for whatever reason) and a couple of big local shows could really get that class going on the best Super Saloon track in the country. The Saloon class may need a little work, as while they have most of the best Saloons and Saloon drivers in the country domiciled there, the overall numbers have dropped to a worrying level on the big track. BP needs to find a way to grow those numbers again. Maybe not run Stockcars every night, but work in with Rotorua on dates and find a way of getting a good number of their cars across a few times per season too. The Ministocks aren't a problem, they just keep on coming on. The Superstocks sound awesome there, and would still love to see a field of 30 a couple of times per year, even if the contact was minimal. A once a year show from other classes such as TQ's and Modifieds is always good too, so long as the numbers stack up.

Barry B good points all but is their to many tracks up north chasing to few cars by holding to many meetings Tauranga in my mind has never got behind the track and once bobs chequebook left that was pretty much it and looking at videos of meetings at bp no crowd or bugger all other provincial tracks like stratford and meeanee seem to do well but if the drivers /fans don't support a track what do you do close it bernies done plenty and seems likes but how much money do you keep spending

Never mind all that stuff.....the bullet was the coolest car when it was built 20 years ago and is still the coolest thing on the track 20 years later, it has stood the test of time like no other.
