www.gregobro.blogspot.comA great final read, and this definitely IS the end of an era. A huge congratulations on making the 10 years however Greg. Arguably the most observant, level-headed, unbaised and impartial NZ speedway meeting reviews ever posted on the Net, although even Greg's reviews drew the attention of the "hit squads" at times. His final few sentences say a lot about New Zealand life really, and it's not exactly anything we should all be too proud of. "I've tried to make this website an interesting read but at the same time a good reflection of what I thought of the meetings I went to. Its not surprising, but a negative review ALWAYS got a massive amount of views over a positive write up about a decent nights racing. What does that say about us? Perhaps thats why bad news always gets an airing before anything positive - this is not an attack on Speedway folk, its just the society we live in sadly." Barry B

I couldn't agree more, BB. Greg's considered and insightful posts were always worth sifting through the mire for, a talented photographer and an honest and rational assessor of what he has watched. I hope there is always a place in speedway for Gregobro and his kind.

Can't disagree with the two preceding posts. Greg has always captured the essence of a meeting perfectly in my opinion. I hope he has a wee rest and gets back into it sometime in the not too distant future.

I am with you guys and will miss the reviews and pics, however I will still look forward to the catch-ups and chats in the pits before each meeting with Greg. Hopefully I can take up a bit of the slack and fill a very small part of some large shoes, thats when I am not playing with a certain ugly duckling.
Thanks Greg, hope you enjoy your speedway even more without the pressure. See you in the pits. Smeats

Indeed lets hope it's a very brief one.
I've always enjoyed reading the blog. It's been an excellent source of reviews and information, particularly for some of the smaller meetings I don't get the chance to attend. The Speedway New Zealand award was excellent recognition for the many years of hard work and the quality of the content.
I've always thoughts the considered opinions would add something to NZDTR magazine. Hopefully the bug bites again at some point in time. I know that I got to the point where the time was too consuming but I've since worked out a way to streamline things without the time commitment. Hopefully you find the same.

I have always enjoyed Greg's reviews, will be missed by many I am sure. Definitely one of the most well balanced speedway reviewers.
