I have heard that this excellent week is going to be in the north island this year. how about a sunday arvo round at harrisville? saloons have never played on the best speedway track in the manawatu, got to be better than a demo derby at parmy!!

I think he's onto a good thing with that. I'd travel up to see that, but wouldn't to see a bit of a Sunday arvo skid around.

[/quote] correct mr jam, not just a skid, but a proper all doorslammers meeting with super saloons ,production saloons and streetstocks, with the dhl interislander saloons as the main atraction. the sth island week last year finished with a meeting at ashburton(non snz).

As I understand the way the series operates it would have to be nothing more than a 'fun day' as there is a significant fee to be paid by the host track.

Going by some videos, some tracks in the south Island don't get a great lot of spectators, but still hold it each year.

I confess I've often looked at crowds and the costs associated with staging a meeting. Can only assume that a major sponsor is meeting the cost of some of these 'special' events. As with any business, special promotions need to secure more customers than normal to meet the costs plus some, or it's all down hill.
