Sounds like some serious prize money is up for grabs, that $8k is more than my whole familys racing budget for a year... including repairs and new parts!

Sounds like some serious prize money is up for grabs, that $8k is more than my whole familys racing budget for a year... including repairs and new parts! You need to factor in it will have a monumental cost to run that race. If they're doing tyre changes at half way the field will chew up 30k of tyres. Everything else in a midget has a very short lifetime and that race is effectively 3-4 nights of racing. You're probably looking at most 500 race laps between full engine rebuilds (not freshens). A esslinger rebuild basically involves replacing all internal and resleaving. dude - its one race and working on 30 car field, thats about $100-1500 in tyres per car - one for each corner... thats two tanks of methanol at $3litre from dj race fuels, that works out to about $500 in gas if they have the 20 gallon fuel tanks So all up that one race would cost about $2000 for the one race, assuming that the tyres will be burnt off totally with each 50 laps and you fill from empty on a 20 gallon tail tank. that leaves about $6000 {which is more than my personal racing budget for each season} in prize money just for the winner of the event... Im not a springs fan - I find midgets have only limited appeal to me, but thats still a pretty good haul in my opinion.

10 laps 30 laps or 100 laps it still going to cost you about the same amount of money per lap! I don't think People who race Midgets are doing it to save money or cut costs!

Dont want to be picky here champ..but that is kinda like saying there's 1.4M worth of cars on the track...really not representative is it For balance you'd really need to look at the per car cost over the prize on offer- All said and done-if it aint a good offering the field will be slim i suppose For me, i cant wait to see it-i like innovation.Love the yanks to be here among it if possible.Apart from the Chilli bowl in early Jan im not sure how if there is any other conflict?

Midways posts are boring and the same old crap. Yep, you need to get you're act together. Just think, with the money you will save by not going to these 'same ole' meetings, you can spend that money by going to Opray live, she'll care what you have to say. I'll save you a seat.
