By the sounds of the post on Rees Facebook page they are getting out of the Stockcar class after Stockcar Teams champs in Feb. Very interesting..maybe to concentrate on Superstocks only?? Must be a massive financial burden as well as hugely time consuming running 6 cars. Good luck to them no matter what they are looking at doing great ambassadors for speedway.

do you know how much fuel it cost to run 6 cars in one night racing. and the time needed for one car after work during the week? if they win teams again yea i expect them to sell up still. they might only stay if enthan gets 1nz. but other than that they will leave the stockcar class to fry bigger fish so you might say.

Maybe ask them. They might be building new cars? Petes selling his white truck does that mean their no travelling anymore or are they upgrading? Probably should ask them before speculation gets out of hand

Have heard it's coming down to this $$$$$$$$$$$$$ - Shame really - Like them or hate them , The Rees Family have put a lot of time and effort into our Great Sport - along with Bum's on Seats. Good Luck to them all for the future and whatever direction they head.

Pete has mentioned through various avenues over the past 12 months or so that the team only planned to run the Stockcar class another season or so, before concentrating on the Superstock class. I assume $$$$ has some bearing on that, but really I'd say it comes down to time. Keeping six cars maintained to compete at the top level of both teams racing and individual competition is something I suspect no other family could do. The sure have put the effort in since Asher and Ethan stepped up to the big boys classes.

Sounds like they are making good busines decisions so they can maintain their longitivity in stockcars. The Rees brand is associated with success - they produce and distribute great quality stockcars - that win! That is the best way to ensure visibility for a business brand! Well done - I'm sure they are surrounded with good business mentors who can help set future goals. I don't know them personally but my hunch is they have given plenty of time/knowledge/equipment on a voluntary basis and in the end that's what's makes speedway run. It's impossible to put a value on that. Without rehashing old wounds it beggars beyond belief how they were allowed to "slip away". The challenge now is for the Gizzy club to celebrate champions amongst their midst, help create a culture where champions can demonstrate their skills but also to protect the the club and culture from knockers and leeches. Champions breed champions. What wisdon can Gizzy learn to grow? Suck it dry I say for all it's worth!!
