Hi, Great thread here. My name is Mark Davys now living in Blenheim, As the name says a Waikato supporter, Remember Forrest Lake as a kid then Te Marua for 10 years, Wilder Chiles and the Jesters team. Moved back to Hamilton and raced a couple of seasons at Huntly in a standard stock (as they were) 91H sponsoered by Regal Haulage. Had to give it away due to mortgages kids and all that stuff. Keep an eye on Easter States the boys are nearly old enough for a ministock to appear. The Wanderers Still Rock!!!

Kia Orana, my name is Paul. Have read these pages for a while and liked what I see, thought it might be worth being apart of. Been keen on stockies for along time. Earliest memories is of the stratty lads like Simbo, Dr John, The Tippets to mention a few. Have done the ministock thing at stratty a couple of years ago and built myself a stockcar for this season. Had a heap of fun and looking forward to next season. Rock on stratty stockcar drivers. ;D ;D

Howdy all, Long time listener, first time caller ...
I go by many names, some of which I can't repeat in here, but my generally accepted title would be Tarn, I'm a 31 yr old femme from Wellington, huge supporter of Speedway, have been coming and going from Te Marua since I was in a pushchair.
I'm currently in residence in Whitby, Porirua with my partner of 5 years and my dog (yes, she is a replacement child). I work for a small company in Wellington City and sometimes I swear, track or no track, being a driver in town could rival some of the action on a dirt track.
My father re-introduced me to the addiction that is stockies at the tender age of 5. It was at that meeting that I became hooked, I'm not sure of all the details but a stockcar (purple if I remember correctly) got airborn and hit the safety fence and came within 2 metres of my father and I and our packed lunch. The pure rush of adrenalin that began 26 years ago has never ceased.
My father stopped going when he realised that his first born daughter was becoming too much of a tomboy so I hitched and walked to Te Marua until I was old enough to drive just to see if I could relive my 5 yr old memories.
In my teens and early 20s I was a regular spectator on the start/finish line watching my favourite class; the super saloons. I remember Grant Reid (5W) and Penny Reid (4W) in the suped up Pennzoil mini and Brian McPhee was in the mix somewhere too, There were also the Moffatt brothers and at some stage speedy the clown too (what ever happened to him?).
I used to love it when they had the fireworks on because it combined loud noises, fire, petrol fumes and speed.
As I've gotten older and moved around alot, it has become more tricky to get to tracks to watch the racing, I've been to Waikaraka Park and Palmy countless times but you just can't beat your home track.
I still love the super saloons (as much as I love the V8 racing series ... GO HOLDEN!) and I'm a huge fan of the WSB's (GO DUCATI!). I'm also quite partial to a weekend of Teams Racing in Palmy ... Go the Wildcats!
My favourite racer of all time would have to be Skinny Colson, he has done things in his car that I still have day dreams about.
I've never worked the pit for anyone or driven either but I have a huge respect for all the guys and girls that go out there and give it guts, they make it magic to watch.
I probably won't be posting a lot of replies in here as from what I have read so far, you all know far more than I do, but I am opinionated so beware of posts that require obscure and heated discussions as I could possibly be right in the thick of it, its easy to get on peoples wicks when you can't see them ... Point to note, I'm like that in the real world too ...
See you in the posts ...

My name is Angie Hansen. I have been involved in speedway since I was a young chassis rail. I have had several skids in stockcars, then gave it away for quite a few years....thats called having anklebiters. Got back into speedway (its in the blood) I managed a superstock, and sponsored a stockcar. Next season another stockcar to sponsor that is being built. Speedway is the best thing ever invented since bourbon was brewed.
