Wow go huntly I see the groups are already allocated with 6 groups of 30 cars.
Good prize money on offer, 30k in total I see. Plus 3000g in travel funds for South Island cars and most exciting .....$1000 for the most exciting hit over the weekend.
And two repercharges to find the final 6 qualifiers at the start of night 2.
Could be some team tactics coming into play to start the finals night off. Sounds like a cracker of an event.

They almost need it to be a 3 night meeting with a night to qualify for the finals 3 heats by 6 groups is 18 races. Could drop a round of ministock in too give the lap scorers a break. 6 heats of 30 cars will be intense. Wonder what car 3nz is driving since the old one sold?

Nope 2nz on the waiting list as entries have gone over 180. If people drop out he may get in. What rule needs to change is three spots available for current title holders. Man on the mic says no drivers here to defend title ladies and gentlemen because he couldn't enter with to many cars. Dumbest thing we could hear

mmm with a small track and so many cars do they need a bounty of a thousand for the best hit...maybe it should be a grand for the recipient too...hope no one gets hurt for the sake of it....

1 2 and 3nz had as much time as the other 180 people to enter so not the comentators or organisers fault they slack. Was well publisised when entries closed!

I expect there will be people who will pull out - suggest driver will be asking around to see who he pulled out in advance. You'd just about tow the car up regardless, as there is always a no show on the day. If not you rue the fact you could get your entry in on time. The cut off has allowed greater organisation and planning that's for sure. How often do you see groups out 3 weeks before a meeting?

Yes very true.
Just doesn't sound wright with current title holders not able to defend their title. Surely it would be better like World 240s that title holder gets automatic entry/spot available for them. If not then that's their choice,

doesnt sound right that huntly accepted entries after they had reached their quota. While quota's are topical - when did SNZ issue quotas/competitors? Don't recall seeing it before.

As far as I can tell, there i nothing in the rule book about quotas or maximum entries, only maximum size for the finals. The 180 cutoff appears to be entirely Huntly's decision, and wasn't advertised beforehand (it certainly isn't on the entry form linked to via SNZ's website)

They might need to reconsider having a limit on competitors.
From the rulebook: M4-6 Eligibility to Enter Allocated Titles M4-6-1 Every competitor has the right to enter Allocated Titles, subject to complying with the following conditions:- (i) Holding an SNZ competition licence for the applicable class (one day licences are not accepted). (ii) Submitting a completed entry form, by the due date. (iii) Paying the entry fee. (iv) Late Entries: At the discretion of the promoter, and if stated on the entry form, late entries can be accepted and a non- refundable fee of $50 can be charged. (iv) Notifying their own Promoter of their intention to compete at least 14 days prior to the event. (v) Obtaining a clearance from their own Promoter.

You gotta feel sorry for the ones that missed out on being in the groups for this. Since when is there a "cap" of number of entries??? Does Huntley just want to take the easy road by making the groups even and thus easier to work out for points/grids etc?
Not fair at all

Don't get carried away with this guys , I'm sure the rules will be complied with. Perhaps the entry never made it in time or someone made a boo boo. Usually this sort of thing gets sorted.

Did you read the entire rule Les or just the first line? Huntly accept all entrys that were received by the due date which expired mid Dec. If you read (iv) they can accept late entrees after this date which they did upto their self imposed limit of 180 Simple and effective
