BUT on this occasion, rightly angry as another few thousand dollars is thrown to the wind, the 'buck stops' at the feet of Bay Venues Limited, the City Council's 100% ratepayer owned and ratepayer subsidized facility managers, mis-managers. The track was again in part under water, turns three and four, for a few days. BVL have chosen NOT to ensure the stormwater pumps are operational. The flooding rendered Bernie a nigh on impossible task to overcome. There can be NO argument, Baypark Family Speedway, aka Bernie Gillon (and last night Aaron Drever) and competitors, spectators and officials, are being repeatedly shat on from a great height by the BVL management team and Governance Body, by a City Council Mayor and elected members who find it easier to look the other way than 'doo their job'! Aaron Drever was on the microphone and on the infield, and from my ears perspective, doing a great job of informing and entertaining. Word on the street, the closets, the workshops and over a beer is that Aaron and Bernie Gillon are putting significant effort into a 'new promotion' team to better ensure the sustainability of speedway at Baypark, again facing the undermining and misinformation campaign of Bay Venues Ltd, staff and Board. So, is this the face of the Baypark Speedway tomorrow? Is Baypark about to enter another new era in it's struggle to survive the constant undermining efforts of the City Council's BVL?

I will reply on what I thort of the meeting a bit later.
Can any one tell me if the Fredrickson memorial last race was 1st across the line takes the event, or did the win by give Hayward enough points? Most of the commentary was inaudible ( not volume related ) I was unsure of any points what so ever.
Unusual format for a contact class if it was first across the line.

The Super Saloon BOP Champs was also confusing in that the final race, won by Ben Harding, was just one of three heats with highest points to be declared the winner. I understand highest points was Karl Hanlon yet Ben was declared the winner? Onwards and hopefully upwards.

Thank you very much for taking and posting the pictures from last nights racing Murray. It's always good to get to see other tracks action, or even just pit shots. Cheers

So steeldog the track how bad was it if Jamie Mac pulled off .What say all the punters that went last night to watch ?? It just goes to show how different it is between the stands and the drivers seat. I have never sat in the seat on the track before. I have seen a lot worse at BP over the years. Last night only cowling in his Super and Dahm in the Sprintcar went over. there were a couple of Saloons that went straight ahead early on but there is nothing much new in that in the first couple of races at BP (not that it should be a valid excuse). The Saloons also seemed to struggle out of turn 2 with some wet patches that acted like brakes slowing some cars down. Going through the turn 3 hole meant an airbourne bouncy ride. However watching the Sprintcars, even from the first race, the hole in turn 3 (see Murray's pic) was right in the centre and still allowed 2 fast lines through the corner - above and below the hole. So by the 3rd race Dahm would have been very aware of its presence and good available race lines - he should have gone low as there was another car on his outside. I have heard many people say of worse track than this that it is the same for everyone, but it is also every drivers right to determine their own safety. It would be good to hear drivers thoughts

The track was no way as bad as it used to be a couple years ago when we sat and watched tractors and grader racing half way through the meeting. Strange but it sounds like Gisbourne rutted up bad last night and no KNOCKER on that thread. For me I have seen worse tracks and for a late in the season meeting enjoyed it, still worth my 2hr drive. Bring on next season and NO KNOCKERS.

Anyone NOTICE only 30 Stockcars and not the 40 entered. Yip I noticed! Did I care? Nope!
They put on a great show! Possibly an ideal number as there was still space to run and plenty of opportunities to strike!
The ministocks ....
