I spoke to Puk at the Stockcar Teams in Auckland and he said they would take 13 teams if there were 13 teams wanting to race. Persoanlly, I can't see Auckland getting a team together for Palmy so I think it will be 13 teams.

If Auckland can put a team together go on them and go for it. Maybe they will end up with drivers outside of region, but that wouldn't make them any different to a number of the other teams listed. If those drivers registered to A for the weekend, that too is no different than people switching tracks to race in either NI or SI champs.
It would be hilarious if Auckland managed to get a team together and Waikato was dropped considering a couple of Aucklanders went to Huntly because they think highly of themselves as teams racers.

I think the reason they went to the Wanderers is because the Waikato Club is a bit more organised getting a team together and some good sponsers to help with exspenses,we knew who the team was October last year thanks to Jared and the club. With the Allstars you don't know who the team is till you turn up at the track just about but in saying that I hope they give the poms some good hits on sat night,go the Allstars!

Why would you drop a team that's been organised for months at the expense of a team that you never know whether they are going to Teams champs until the week before the event every year? Phil do you have any insight as to why this is the case with Auckland season after season?

I imagine its because Auckland dont have enough cars who want to teams race so they need to try and organise ring ins etc. But yeah, Waikato are locked and loaded and good to go. Wanganui are making an announcement in half an hour so that will be 13 teams provding their announcement is that they do have a team which will mean whether Auckland are there or not we wont be having groups.

Is the same team that was organised months ago? Probably not because things change as a season moves on. I might be wrong, I don't know who was organised months ago.
As for insights all I know is the times over the years that I did race for Auckland I knew well in advance. If they choose to not make it known until a week out, that's up to them. Maybe a missed opportunity for fans, perhaps. But that's a choice.
I know in recent seasons there have been some people wanting to race, and said they would. They have a major failure/reliability issues just prior, or they change their mind, then change it again. The club has helped drivers out one year thinking they would stay around then something happens in the playground and they run off saying they don't want to play anymore.
I spoke to Bryce last week and he told me they had a team. I didn't bother asking at the time who they had as at present I'm not interested, but I said if he needs/wants to use my car to go ahead. If I was using the car I'd been keen for another run against team GB. Who knows, someone could have a failure this weekend and have to pull out.
But I haven't even been to the track this season at all, haven't even sat in my car since last April. I don't even know who has turned up to race each week or how many A cars they have, only what I read on here. Which is a shame as I do miss it a little.
As for go29, maybe Auckland has to find ring ins, but they are not the only team now are they?

Whats the big problem with "ring ins" been happening since Adam played full back for the Israeli's. Will be happening aslong as Palmy Teams is still an event. Get over it they all put on a top notch show for us the Fans..they pay the bills and put their body on the line so get to choose who they teams race for.

I am under no illusion how difficult it must be behind the scenes but as an Allstars supporter all I want is for them to be there ring ins or not!! Hope to see you back out on the track again soon.....cheers

Wanganui and Giants are the same and that's why they named their teams a little later than others. I'm all for ring ins the more teams the better!

How likely is it that the All Stars will enter a team?

Would say we will know more about the All Stars by the end of the weekend. One way or the other.

How likely is it that the All Stars will enter a team? Quite annoying isn’t it. Surely they’d have a team by now if they were in.

How likely is it that the All Stars will enter a team? If what I've heard is right it's very likely, with drivers from all over the north island, including about as far down the motu as you can get without getting yr feet wet.
