Thought it would be a good thing to have a thread headed up by the actual draw. Thinking of attending? then there are a few General Admission tickets still available although a seat is not guaranteed. Be quick!!

What I find interesting out of this is the amount of races between each teams race for the teams. 7 Races for Wildcats, and Panthers. 6 Races for Allstars, Busters, Eagles, GB Lions, Hawkeyes, Tigers, Scrappers, and Wanderers. Only 5 for Giants, Rebels, and Warriors. Time to fix damage is going to be a factor for some teams more than others. And, shouldn't the higher seeded teams get a time advantage as well, so HB and GB have 7 races between each?? Just wondering...... Anyway, my top 5 would be Rebels, Panthers, Warriors, Giants, Mustangs (Can not decide on a top 4).

I do find it a little strange that the Warriors have drawn both of last year’s finalists. Still, the last time we raced Hawke’s Bay (2015) webeat them to advance to the finals, so we’ll just have to do it all over again

Please dont get me wrong. In no way am I one of those "oh the draw is rigged - Smash the P" type people, but I do have two questions... 1. Why have Palmy Panthers and the Wellington team got the two biggest gaps between races? Surely this advantage (I guess extra time is an advantage?) should be given to the UK and Hawkes Bay as last years runners up and winner? 2. Why don't they do the draw in a public forum? I mean, that would help stop some of this "its rigged" crap but also it would add to the build up.

When it was done on air with Barry B people still said it was rigged, even videoed on Facebook from memory the same people weren't happy No matter what the draw certain people will never be happy as long as Palmy have teams in there, even when the pools have ended up being both Palmy teams & either Nelson or GB somehow that meant an easy ride for the panthers

I doubt any team has an easy ride . Taking a look through the line up i wouldnt want to say who is the strongest looking team there. It is what it is and every team has a chance and the manner of the sport a race result can change on the last lap. All i can say is good luck to all teams who have entered [ May The Best Team Win ]

There are some people that would still say it was rigged somehow even if they were the ones to do the draw themselves. And ask the 2016 Panthers about their easy ride, losing to two teams who on paper they had dead to rights and a semi final spot booked, only to get caught with their pants down and sent to the consolation races for the first time in about a decade. This year it won't be easy for anyone and I can't pick a top 4, or even a single team that should be in the top 4

Just you lot didn't. When Mike mac rocked up in the charman tank. Had the vides. That glen eagles came about because of result one loss.

Just didn't go shouting it out for fear of being lynched by the rest of the locals! Any my point is, past form had the Panthers as favourites to win that year, only to get smoked by a much better Hawkeeyes team on the night. And I think this weekend has the potential to throw out some more upsets.

So no information on when and where the draw was done or who was present?? Interesting to see Panthers get a big break between races and draw the Perennial under achievers in Christchurch and I guess they have already found a wheel on the grass from a Scrapper. It is Palmy's own event and they put on the show so they should have every right to make up the draw how they want and as they do.

Going on that logic the draw must have been done in Wellington, the wildcats have the same break as well as not racing any of the seeds
