Is everyone loving the 6 teams two night event? This is my 9th year attending but I won’t be back. Time to move this joke somewhere else. The home track barely can field a team and when you get smashed in both races and still make the semi finals. Beats me. Yeah come at me haters with your excuses about the action bla bla Thankfully we wont have to put up with your comments going forward. I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to that. Last night the issue with a team losing both races and making the semi finals was the direct result of a ridiculous draw system. Seeding three teams in a six-team competition was primary school formatting. As soon as I saw it I said "There is a fair chance a team loses both races and still qualifies". There should have been no team seeding. The event needed a blockbuster night one match-up to sell the show. A Palmy vs Gisborne, a battle of Palmy, a battle of the Bombays with the two ex-Auckland cars. Any one of these match-ups could have sold the event. I may have made mention previously that I'll never understand why promoters don't do the draw early. Well voila this event provides the perfect example of why you do it and why promoters need to engage their brains when formatting these events. I was very happy with the quality of action we saw last night. The first race between Waikato and Manawatu was a ripper. Waikato coming oh so close to causing an upset. On balance I felt Waikato were the fourth best team but the cards didn't fall their way. Contrary to the opinion expressed earlier Auckland were tactically astute. In their first race there were some very good changes of tactic in an effort to block the Panthers runners and try to advance Ron Tye up the order. There was no sacrifice by slowing as Dare and Hemi were well down on laps which saw the Auckland cars claim 3rd through 5th. In the second race Bryce Marx drove a magnificent race to somehow claim second when faced with a 2 on 3 situation. That put Auckland through and without such astute teams racing they would be up for 5th and 6th. All teams can be proud of their performances tonight. This event doesn't need to move venue, it simply needs a new coat of paint and a promoter who actually wants to promote the event.

I’m pretty sure the 240s got moved to Rotorua and that was a palmy event. I persist because I care about the sport and think there is a time and place for this event just not in Auckland. So instead of calling me stupid get your head out of the camera and wake up to the fact this event will die soon if somthing doesn’t change.

The 240's change to Rotorua happened as a result of a change in Promoter at Palmerston. The out going promotion must have had naming rights to the "World 240's" and a deal was struck with Rotorua. This coincided with the "Global 248" event being started. I do agree that the Auckland event needs lifting.

Maninstand who do you think will do it better? In my long career of being a 'man in the stand' there were similar events to this in Rotorua, Bay Park, Hawkes Bay and Stratford and there was a South Island Teams event too. None of them exist any more. I would rather have this meeting running with the option to go, than just have Palmy Teams and nothing else because I don't see any other clubs jumping up to run this event. Any club is free to run a Superstock Teams meeting. More importantly if you have a gripe, tell the club, feedback is essential if you want it to be better. Tonight might be a ripper, who knows, if you don't go I can 100% guarantee you will miss it LOL.

Yes I’ve been going on about it so I’ll give it a rest but like everyone else on here we may have different opinions but we all love speedway and want every event to succeed.

I disagree with you drivers whinding down for the season. As they way more cars running at April. Thanks in November. Then again hawkes bay stacks it's huge superstock meetings at the end of the sEason. So I am bassing it on that. Jamie fox was right one day meeting. The current situation isn't working. So you gotta try something new. Hard luck story goes to Waikato. Who should be in the semis. If you wanto decent teams racing each other. Mustangs for the win. After a brutal race between panthers and gissy knocking out each other. There definately are some drivers who decide to park up before the end of season.Yes local drivers may drag their cars out for the last few local meetings but you dont see big numbers travelling too far.

Every year this event has been held ,there is a a small group of individuals ,that have nothing better to do than forecast the future of this event plus criticism ,of the evening entertainment that unfolded . My criticism of this event is simply that the promoter and the club committee need to desperately start to recognize and reconstruct for the benefit of the paying public ,the clubs future ,and beyond that here is a group of entertaining racers willing to do there utmost for there clubs in team racing . These type of meetings should be great money makers for the club ,but at Waikaraka park it is simply not happening like it used to Why

I guess it must be hard for a club to invest in a venue that still has a uncertain future & an owner that isn't interested As has been mentioned above other tracks could run their own superstock teams meeting like happens with stockcars but they either aren't interested or don't have a strong enough class to have their own team there every year. The 3 tracks that come to mind as having a strong enough class consistantly to host a teams meeting are Stratford, Rotorua & Meeanee, I think over the years all 3 have tried & given up from what I've been told

So what you are saying is that the Autumn Nats at Meeanee and Speedfest is going to be stacked with cars from all over NZ , i surely hope so because i use to attend these meetings every year without fail but gave it a miss the last couple of years because of the lack of top drivers from around the country attending. Sounds like i will be coming back to the Autumn Nats this year . lol
