For purposes of this analysis I included the 11 meetings held at Western Springs Speedway
Overall 38 drivers raced at Western Springs this season consisting of 6 Americans (Stewart, Hirst, Stewart, Loyet, Allard, Bayston) and 32 New Zealanders. Of the 32 New Zealanders 20 were registered to Auckland, 5 to the Mount, 3 to Kihikihi, 2 to Christchurch, 1 to Palmerston North and 1 to Wellington.
Car Counts The first night of the International Series saw 30 cars in attendance for a season high car count. The next week 26 turned up for an average of 28 during the International Sprintcar Series. The biggest night over the rest of the season was the NZ Sprintcar Title for which 29 cars were in attendance. The lowest attendance was at the World Midget 30 Lapper where just 14 cars were on the grid. The season average excluding the international series was 20.2 cars for an overall average of 21.1 cars.
Driver Attendance Seven drivers attended all 11 meetings being Torpey, Brocas, Sands, Leversedge, Witton, Dahm & Dahm. Another four drivers made 10 appearances Shadbolt, Larsen, Child, Eggleton.

What has been factor in the numbers increased prize money. were now seeing more Baypark drivers coming up to the springs on regular basis. along with world sprintcar series, now Rolling thunder which looks as though going be around for few seasons.. only benefit the section as whole.

Yes the Super saloons can only prosper, once Waikaraka park held the annual Super saloon nationals ,but that is another for gotten show that pulled the paying punters through the gates ,they have certainly lost a lot of revenue over time i wonder who or what ever happened to that large cup ,that was part of the show ..

the Dahm boys have supported the Springs all season even when Baypark was running.
I knew one would get a National podium sooner or later, both are in with a shot every night.
