Most spectators and even more so at the teams aren't to bothered about who is who. It's province against province and they should all go back to running team flags!

Whilst I can agree with this in part due to the masses who only attend one Speedway meeting a season I do not agree that the die hard fans support your statement. As a Commentator we would be crucified on Social Media etc if we did not give out that info.

The diehards will always be the minority in a big crowd. The diehards know who is who, some could even be blindfolded and still pick a competitor just by engine note. The clash of team colours is mostly what leads to spectator confusion. Team flags are far easier to identify than any name or number on the side of the car. They are after all, a team.

We've also run team flags off our wings for the past 3 seasons...

I don't actually care who's who as such, but when they run their normal numbers I can follow the race easier. I can watch them go past in lap 1 and remember it's Robertson, Gaskin, Levien, and Parker 1st to 4th. Then know that if one of them gets taken out then they ain't in the running, the next ones move up the order. I don't want to have to remember 858 from 585, 588, 855 and if one of them gets taken out of the running... Sh!t is it 585 or 855 now in second.

The Hawkeyes have had their drivers names on the visors of their bodies for the past 3 years.....
Well you can see GROOME on his car the rest are just a blur! You can clearly see HAWK on the side of all the wings, great spot for the drivers surname and still room for sponsors.
Hell , I wear glasses for reading and I can still make it all out without them. If you cant work it out by reading the number on the side , what does the name on the front matter. Hawkeyes would be the best presented outfit at any teams meeting and have been for several years and the fans favourites win or lose.

The 3 digit Alleycat numbers were a great (tactical/stategic) idea when we first used them.
It was for on track reasons not tryin to make commentator's and spectator's have a hard time.
