Drivers keep eye out for Matt Smith winner last weeks super car series finale, Hayden williams runner up finish to smith.. Dayne kingshott 2nd in this race last season. reigning Australian champion Kaidon Brown.. pickens having won last year be starting off the back, just like Barry B race gets choose who'll be starting alongside him and so on.. definitely great race up there.. along with trans- tasman series for bragging rights.
whose your pick win this year? barring any incidents i think pickens be firm favourite for repeat of last year.

sadly a serious incident during the running of the 50 lapper has young Reid Mackay fighting for his life after clipping another cars right rear and barrel rolling on pit corner resulting in sydney speedway reporting Reids condition as critical but stable. Further reports today are saying he has sustained serious head injuries and remains critical . Thoughts and prayers for Reid Mackay

Was a bloody good event, the whole show was suburb I felt.
2 cautions across the whole race, the first being bein when carl worboys had a gentle roll after the green flag had dropped in turn 1.
I have never been to that facility before but boy o boy could we take some learnings from it. If the speedway gets moved on from WS, then a track set up similar to Valvoline would be ideal.
The getting on track and off track set up is great, enables the programme to flow, no mucking about with quad bikes, cars can exit the track if they have a problem etc. The big lap counter for all to see (including the drivers), the white lights for the last lap etc etc. Just a well thought out facility. I was super impressed. Not to mention the commentator, kept the whole crowd totally engaged and we had about an hours down time while the two large midget crashes were attended to and not to mention the station wagon fender bender that also rolled maybe 4 times as well. Thumbs up from me.
Great job to Taylor, he lead about 40 laps. Michael Stewart the aussie who pedaled over here at xmas would have won it, but with 4 to go had Kaidon Brown come back from over the cushion in the down hill area and instead of merging came straight over and MS at full pedal collected him and punctured a right rear. Very disappointing for the MS team.
That Aussie Matt Smith was super quick all night, was great to watch. So many of those Aussies that come over here and are terrible were right on the pace all night, Matt Jackson, Troy Jenkins were well on the pace.
Great event to all who arranged it, will be back next year if it goes ahead again.

Many of the aussies that come here do generally struggle. in the same way many kiwis struggle there. aside from MP hayden williams and even MK dont have great run, there results have showed that.. would be pretty cool if Matt smith was included part australian contingent next season. i know he was selected come here 2013 international season, think he had crash prior to series. always been one the strongest drivers over there for many seasons.if you look at the depth getting alot stronger with likes Michael stewart, Dayne kingshott name few who ultra competitive up there. give most drivers real hurry up
